ARCADIA June 26 At 1:06 a.m., an officer responded to Westfield Santa Anita Mall, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft from person report. Sometime between 1:30 p.m. on June 25 and 1 a.m. on June 26, someone stole two of the victim’s wheels from his Dodge Charger. At 4:51 a.m., an officer responded to AT&T My Wireless and Let’s Go Kebab, both located at 643 W. Duarte Road, regarding two commercial burglaries. The officer discovered an unknown suspect entered through the front of AT&T My Wireless, ransacked that location, then removed a front window to Let’s Go Kebab, and ransacked the second location. The suspect also cut a hole in the shared wall and attempted to knock over a safe in AT&T My Wireless. The suspect was unable to access the safe but fled with U.S. currency. June 27 At 11:14 a.m., an officer responded to the parking lot of L.A. Fitness, located at 1325 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a petty theft report. An investigation revealed someone stole the victim’s tailgate from his 2015 Toyota Tacoma sometime between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. on June 27. At 5:36 p.m., an officer responded to Nordstrom, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a grand theft report. Surveillance footage captured the suspect steal a designer handbag and cut off the security tag before exiting the store, failing to pay for the item. The suspect is described as a White female, with a heavy build, wearing a blue shirt, black shorts, and a baseball hat. June 28 At 6:50 a.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Kardashian Avenue and Goldring Road regarding a stolen vehicle report. Surveillance footage revealed the suspects are a White female and a male of an unknown race. They fled on foot toward 1st Avenue. June 29 At 7:58 a.m., an officer responded to Embassy Suites, located at 211 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a grand theft report. The officer determined someone stole wheels from two separate vehicles that were parked in the hotel parking lot. The wheels belonged to a 2019 Honda Civic and a 2020 Toyota Camry. At 4:22 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of South Golden West Avenue regarding a burglary report. The officer discovered someone entered the home through an open window and fled with the victim’s jewelry. The crime occurred sometime between 5 p.m. on June 26 and 4 p.m. on June 29. June 30 At 1:52 a.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness parking lot, located at 125 N. 1st Ave., regarding a battery incident. The victim stated the suspect, a Hispanic male transient whom she had befriended, grew angry with her during a conversation and ultimately hit and scratched her. The victim transported herself to Arcadia Methodist Hospital for treatment. The suspect is outstanding as of the date of this report. At 12:23 p.m., an officer responded to the Arcadia Police Department front counter regarding an incident of fraud that occurred at the United Stated Post Office at 41 Wheeler Avenue. At 9:39 a.m., an officer responded to the 900 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a theft from vehicle report. Sometime between June 27 and July 1, someone stole the registration tag from the victim’s license plate. At 4:05 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of West Huntington Drive and West Santa Clara Street regarding a hit and run collision. The officer located the suspect nearby and discovered the driver exhibited signs of severe alcohol impairment. The 40-year-old male from Ontario was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. July 2 At 8:32 a.m., an officer responded to the 300 block of Diamond Street regarding a theft from vehicle report. The victim discovered his catalytic converter had been stolen from his 2004 Honda Accord. The incident occurred at 3:21 a.m. on June 30.

At 8:52 a.m., a victim called to say he parked his truck at a business parking lot in the 1600 block of South Mountain. He then went inside the business. When he returned, the front door lock had been punched and he was missing approximately $2,000 in tools. This investigation is continuing. At 9:17 a.m., a victim came into the Monrovia Police Department lobby to report that she received a message through Facebook from a known subject. The subject was asking for money to be sent to the Philippines so she could help out a family friend. The victim wired money and later found out that the subject she thought she was helping had had their Facebook account hacked. This investigation is continuing. At 9:35 a.m., an employee at a business in the 100 block of West Pomona called to report that someone had broken in and stolen property sometime during the night. This investigation is continuing.

At 11:57 a.m., an officer responded to a dental office located at 118 Las Tunas Drive regarding a fraud report. An investigation revealed the business issued a check, mailed it, and later discovered the check had been altered and processed.

At 12:28 p.m., a business in the 3300 block of South Peck reported that there was a stolen vehicle on their lot. The officer arrived and was told a third party dropped the vehicle off. The vehicle was recovered and the registered owner was notified. This investigation is continuing.

June 23 At 3:00 a.m., a victim in the 200 block of East Lemon reported that his work truck had been broken into earlier that morning. Officers arrived and determined that numerous items had been stolen including tools and plumbing equipment. The victim advised that the stolen items were valued at approximately $13,000. This investigation is continuing. At 3:49 a.m., an officer

The Fire Department was able to put the small brush fire out. Further investigation revealed the driver might have been involved in a similar incident that occurred earlier in the week. He was arrested and taken into custody. At 2:58 p.m., a scrap yard business in the 3300 block of South Peck called to report another vehicle on their lot had been reported stolen. The officer responded and was told the vehicle was dropped off in May and they just got paperwork stating it was stolen. This investigation is continuing. At 8:05 p.m., an officer conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation near the intersection of Primrose and Huntington. The driver was contacted and an investigation revealed he had a warrant for his arrest. The driver was arrested per the authority of the warrant and taken into custody. At 10:24 p.m., an officer patrolling the 1300 block of South Mayflower saw a male subject who appeared to be spraying graffiti. The officer stopped to investigate and determined the subject was just laying his clothes out on the sidewalk. While speaking to the subject the officer saw drug paraphernalia next to him. The subject admitted the paraphernalia was his and revealed he had two different types of controlled substances concealed on his person. He was arrested and taken into custody.

At 11:33 p.m., while on patrol in the 200 block of West Pomona the officer recognized a male subject who was on parole and had warrants. The subject was detained and an investigation revealed he had three warrants for his arrest. The subject was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody. June 24 At 3:08 a.m., a caller in the 400 block of West Maple reported hearing a metal tool being used and then saw a subject running from a parked vehicle. Officers arrived and determined someone was trying to unbolt a catalytic converter from the vehicle. This investigation is continuing. At 5:22 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Orange regarding an upset female subject who was cutting herself with a knife. An investigation revealed the subject was a danger to herself and needed to be evaluated by a mental health professional. She was transported to a local facility for treatment. At 11:33 p.m., a caller in the 900 block of West Huntington reported a large fight in the hotel's event room. Officers arrived and contacted a subject who was clearly too intoxicated to care for themselves. The subject was arrested for public intoxication and transported to the Monrovia Police Department jail to be held for a sobering period.
