The employee noticed that the tablet at the front counter had been stolen sometime during the previous night. At 8:04 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of West Camino Real Avenue regarding a mail theft report. The victim stated unknown suspect(s) broke into her mailbox and stole mail sometime between Saturday, May 21 at 11:50 p.m. and Sunday, May 22 at 6 a.m. At 8:14 p.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of South Baldwin Avenue regarding a traffic collision. Upon contacting the driver, the officer detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath. Through a series of tests, the officer concluded the driver, a 53-year-old male from Rosemead, had a blood alcohol content of .285%. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. May 23 At 6:50 a.m., an officer responded to Beef Noodles, located at 1045 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a commercial burglary report. Upon arrival, the officer noticed a total of three businesses had been burglarized during the previous night. Surveillance footage captured a lone male suspect wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt smash one of the front windows and flee with cash. At 1:15 p.m., an officer was contacted by a staff member of Dana Middle School regarding a student being in possession of two knives. The weapons were confiscated, and the 13-year-old juvenile was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. The suspect was later released to his parent. The officers arrested one of the suspect, a 29-year-old female from Compton, and discovered she was in possession of additional stolen property from another vehicle burglary that happened nearby. Surveillance footage revealed a male suspect driving a UHaul truck stole 60 pallets from the business parking lot. The suspect is described as Hispanic, with short, dark hair, and facial hair. At 10:35 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 500 block of Columbia Road regarding a fraud report. The victim stated he received a confirmation email regarding a wire transfer made to Pretty L Entertainment. The victim stated he did not initiate or approve of the transfer and does not know how the unidentified suspect(s) obtained his personal account information. May 26 At 12:43 p.m., an officer responded to Premier Van Lines, located at 126 East St., regarding a vehicle burglary report. The officer discovered someone entered the company van and stole numerous tools. It is unknown how the suspect(s) entered the vehicle as there were no signs of forced entry. He described the suspects as Hispanic males, both 6’ tall, with bald heads, and approximately 150 pounds. The robbery occurred outside of the closed restaurant, located at 181 Colorado Pl. At 4:28 p.m., an officer responded to Big Lots, located at 610 Las Tunas Dr., regarding a grand theft report. An investigation revealed the suspect attempted to pay for a mattress, but when his credit/ debit card was declined, the suspect stole the item and fled in a black four-door Nissan Altima. He is described as a Hispanic male wearing a lightcolored shirt and dark-colored pants. May 28 At 6:49 p.m., an officer responded to the intersection of Colorado Boulevard and Second Avenue regarding an animal abuse incident. The officer determined the suspect kicked her dog repeatedly before throwing the animal over a four-foot fence. A records check revealed the suspect, a 28-year-old local female transient, had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants. She was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

May 20 At 12:40 a.m., a victim in the 100 block of Highland Place called to report that his ex-girlfriend had keyed both the hood and driver's side door of his vehicle. This investigation is continuing. At 1:05 a.m., officers responded to a parking structure in the 200 block of West Pomona regarding a suspicious vehicle. Upon arrival officers contacted a male and female subject sitting inside of the vehicle. An investigation revealed the female had an outstanding warrant for her arrest. She was also found to be in possession of a controlled substance. She was arrested and taken into custody. The male subject had medical issues and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. At 12:07 p.m., a victim in the 300 block of North Encinitas reported their vehicle had been keyed while parked in a local business parking lot. This investigation is continuing. At 2:47 p.m., a caller in the 1700 block of South Mayflower reported her roommate was experiencing mental health issues. Officers arrived and determined the female adult was a danger to herself and needed to be evaluated by a mental health professional. She was transported to a local facility for treatment. This investigation is continuing. May 21 At 12:25 a.m., officers patrolling the 100 block of West Lemon saw a male subject lying on the ground. They contacted him and discovered he was highly intoxicated and unable to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the Monrovia Police Department jail to be held for a sobering period. At 1:06 a.m., while on patrol in the 200 block of East Lemon an officer observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver showed signs of intoxication. Sobriety tests were performed and the driver was ultimately arrested for DUI. He was transported to the Monrovia Police Department jail to be held for a sobering period. At 2:19 a.m., multiple callers reported two subjects tampering with a vehicle in the 200 block of East Lemon. Officers arrived and were able to locate both subjects hiding in the area. An investigation was conducted and a vehicle in the area was found to have been tampered with. One of the suspects was found to have a no bail warrant for his arrest. Upon arrival they saw that the front window had been shattered and that a suspect had entered the business through that window. The suspect fled the area prior to officers’ arrival. This investigation is continuing. At 12:52 p.m., an employee from a business in the 1600 block of South Mountain called to report that a grand theft had occurred thirty minutes prior. Officers arrived and collected evidence of the crime. This investigation is continuing. At 1:54 p.m., a resident in the 200 block of West Pomona called and reported her vehicle was taken sometime during the night. She notified the officer that she was able to track the car using her cell phone. The vehicle was tracking to a residential street in Pasadena. Pasadena PD responded to the location and was able to recover the vehicle. This investigation is continuing. May 22 At 1:55 a.m., an officer patrolling the intersection of Fifth and Huntington saw a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver showed signs of intoxication. An investigation revealed that he had been driving under the influence of alcohol and was also on probation for a prior DUI. He was arrested and transported to the Monrovia Police Department jail to be held for a sobering period. At 5:40 p.m., a robbery was reported in the 900 block of West Duarte. The caller reported that the victim was approached by two subjects who brandished pistols and demanded his cell phone. The suspects left the location prior to officers’ arrival. This investigation is continuing. At 10:43 p.m., an officer was patrolling the 700 block of East Huntington when he was flagged down by an employee of a local gas station. The employee pointed out two male suspects and advised that they were tampering with the gas pumps. Officers made contact with the suspects, but one of them became uncooperative during the detention and refused a lawful search. He was arrested and taken into custody.
