ARCADIA Nov. 21 At 1:26 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, located at 300 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a battery report. The victim, a nurse at the hospital, was approached by a patient who wrapped his arm around the victim’s neck for no apparent reason. The victim refused medical treatment. The suspect is a 32-year-old male from San Gabriel. The investigation is ongoing. At 7:18 a.m., an officer responded to the 1000 block of Hampton Road regarding the activation of a GPS tracking device that had been previously deployed to catch mail and package thieves. The suspect was found to be in possession of the tracking device and stolen mail from various Arcadia residents. A records check revealed the 28-year-old male from Covina had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant. During a search incident to an arrest, the officer located a small bag of what appeared to be methamphetamine. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. Nov. 22 At 6:10 p.m., an officer responded to 24 Hour Fitness, located at 125 N. First Ave., regarding a robbery investigation. Surveillance footage revealed the suspect entered the gym, stole a pair of ear bud headphones, displayed a crowbar when he was confronted by a store employee, and fled to the Gold Line train headed eastbound. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 20 to 30-years-old, with a medium build, 5 feet 8 inches tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, black shoes, an orange vest, and a backpack. The investigation is ongoing. At 5:56 p.m., an officer responded to Macy’s, located at 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a theft report. An investigation revealed the suspect stole more than $450 worth of store merchandise before attempting to flee. He was detained by the loss prevention employees. The

19-year-old male transient from Los Angeles was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking. Nov. 23 At 12:59 a.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, located at 300 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a disturbance in the lobby. The officer discovered the suspect stole a clock from the hospital and fled. The suspect is believed to be a 28-year-old male transient from Moreno Valley. At 12:07 p.m., an officer responded to Denny’s, located at 7 E. Huntington Drive, regarding a grand theft report. The reporting party stated someone stole an air compressor and tampered with the water heater and air conditioning unit. The incident happened sometime between Nov. 16 and Nov. 23. Nov. 24 At 5:20 p.m., an officer responded to the County of Los Angeles Department of Agricultural Commissioner/ Weight and Measures, located at 12300 Lower Azusa Road, regarding a theft. Surveillance footage revealed two suspects stole the catalytic converters from a Toyota Sienna and a GMC Canyon sometime between 4 and 6 a.m. on Nov. 20.

MONROVIA

Nov. 19 At 2:12 a.m., officers responded to the 200 block of West Lime regarding a male subject laying in the middle of the alleyway. Officers contacted the subject who was heavily intoxicated. It was determined he was unable to care for himself. He was arrested and transported to the Monrovia PD Jail for a sobering period. At 4:42 a.m., a caller in the 1500 block of Encino advised that as he was arriving home, he saw a suspect going through his mailbox. The suspect then got into the passenger’s seat of a white vehicle. The caller followed the vehicle through the neighborhood before the suspect brandished a firearm. The caller then stopped following the suspect vehicle. This investigation is continuing. At 8:23 a.m., a witness reported a traffic collision occurred in the intersection of Ivy and Walnut. Officers arrived and checked on the well-being of the occupants. One of the drivers injured her arm and was transported to a local hospital. At 8:58 p.m., a vehicle vandalism was reported at the 1200 block of South Alta Vista regarding. An investigation revealed that a large rock had been thrown through the front windshield. This investigation is continuing. Nov. 20

Nov. 18 At 12:58 a.m., officers were patrolling a vacant lot in the 1600 block of South Magnolia when they located a male subject loitering on the property. An investigation revealed he was in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was arrested.

At 11:20 a.m., a caller advised that she had just spoken with someone in the 200 block of East Maple who expressed an interest in harming herself. Officers located the female subject and determined that she needed to be evaluated by a mental health professional. She was transported to a local facility for treatment.

At 1:19 p.m., a resident in the 900 block of West Hillcrest called to report that her ex-husband drove past her house, violating a domestic violence restraining order. Officers arrived and completed a report. The ex-husband came into the Monrovia Police Department lobby a short time later and provided a statement. He was arrested and taken into custody.

At 1:00 p.m., a suspicious parked vehicle was reported near the intersection of Lemon and Parkrose. The vehicle was occupied by two subjects. Officers arrived and made contact with both subjects. An investigation revealed they were both on probation for narcotics. They were also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. They were arrested.
