D.L. HUGHLEY will headline at Pasadena's Ice House on July 5. As the star and producer of his namesake television show that ran on ABC and UPN, The Hughleys, D.L. is also well known as one of the standout comedians on the hit comedy docu-film The Original Kings of Comedy. His project, The Endangered List, premiered on Comedy Central in 2012
and was described by Slate as a "healthy snack of foodfor-thought" and a "strange balance of bitter and sweet.". Missing Arcadia firefighter Continued from page 1
2014, Arcadia Firefighter/ Paramedics, Mike Herdman and Taylor Byars, became separated while on a weekend camping trip in the Sespe Wilderness Area outside of Fillmore, CA. Mr. Byars and Mr. Herdman were preparing to set up camp on Friday evening when Mr. Herdman’s dog ran away from the camp. Barefoot and wearing only shorts and a tee shirt, Mr. Herdman pursued the dog, followed by Mr. Byars. A short time later, the two men became separated. Mr. Byars made his way back to the campsite in the dark.
When Mr. Herdman had not returned to the camp by daylight, Mr. Byars began to search for him. Despite his best efforts and after nearly two days of searching, Mr. Byars made his way out of the wilderness through miles of extremely rough terrain and heavy vegetation and reported Mr. Herdman’s disappearance to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office in Fillmore on Sunday evening. Mike Herdman, 36 years old, is a 7 year veteran of the Arcadia Fire Department.
Fifth annual ABMDR wine-tasting set - June 20 The Armenian Bone Marrow Donor Registry (ABMDR) will hold its fifth annual wine-tasting on June 20. One of the organization’s most anticipated community events, the wine-tasting is once again sponsored by Mr. and Mrs. Vicken and Salpi Mankerian of Mission Wine and Spirits, and will be hosted by the Mankerians at their residence in Sierra Madre, California. Guests will enjoy a wide variety of fine vintages and varietals, with wine stewards from over 30 wineries pouring more than 100 brands.
