Howard Street vegetation fire in Glendale Tuesday 7 Glendale units (1 Battalion Chief command team, 4 engine companies, and 2 basic life support ambulances) along with Burbank fire department personnel responded to a reported vegetation fire located at 1315 Howard Street in the city of Glendale on Tuesday. Glendale Engine 24 arrived on scene and discovered smoke and flames showing to the rear of the structure. The fire was

located at the back of the property line. Firefighters aggressively attacked the fire by deploying multiple hose lines. Knock down of the fire was declared at 3:52 p.m., 23 minutes after units were dispatched to the scene. Glendale Water and Power (GWP) was on scene to assess damage to power lines. Three residents were without power because of the fire. GWP is working to restore power to the

residents within two hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The Glendale Fire Department reminds residents to conduct vegetation/ brush clearance known as creating a defensible space on their properties. Clearing 100 feet of space around structures from brush and debris is a crucial defense mechanism to protect homes from being destroyed by a brush fire.

until 1964, however, that the Smokey Robinson writtenand-produced “The Way You Do the Things You Do” turned the guys into stars. An avalanche of hits followed, many of which, “My Girl,” for instance, attained immortality. The hits kept coming with “It’s Growing,” “Since I Lost My Baby,” “Get Ready,” “Too Proud to Beg,” “Beauty Is Only Skin Deep,” & “I Wish It Would Rain.” The classic lineup was Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin, Paul Williams, Eddie Kendricks and David Ruffin. Beyond the fabulous singing, the Temps became known for smooth stepping and flawless presentations. The Temptation Walk became a staple of American style, flair, flash and class. Millions of fans saw the Temptations as cultural heroes. When the sixties and

seventies turned political, the Temps got serious. They changed their tone, dress and music. Producer Norman Whitfield led the way. His Temptations hits, many featuring Dennis Edwards who had replaced David Ruffin, burned with intensity. “Runaway Child,” “Cloud Nine,” “I Can’t Get Next to You,” “Papa Was a Rolling Stone” and “Psychedelic Shack” still smolder. Other stellar singers -- Richard Street, Ali-Ollie Woodson -- joined, adding their luster to the group’s growing fame. No matter the change in personnel, the Temptations remained true to their tradition. They survived the whims of fashion, whether disco or techno, and stuck to their musical guns. In the eighties, the Temps prevailed with smashes like “Treat Her like a Lady.” Then in the nineties, another Temptation ex-

plosion: It began with their appearance on Motown 25 in 1983; and continued with the NBC mini series that chronicled the group’s history, a ratings triumph over two nights in prime time. New no-cut, no-sew technique will bring your gum line to its normal position in one short appointment. No gum grafting. Quick healing. Dr. John Chao has announced a groundbreaking patented procedure based on a knife-less, stitch-free and relatively pain-free method for repairing receding gums, called the Pinhole Surgical Technique® (PST®). Since there is no cutting or stitching, patients can expect virtually no pain and practically instant cosmetic improvement with almost no sign anything has been done. PST is a dramatic improvement to the standard, more invasive and painful graft method which requires grafted gum from the roof of the mouth to the

teeth. PST is considered by many experts to be a grounding-breaking discovery in the field of dentistry. Dr. Chao was recently granted a patent by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. Concurrently, a 33-month study undertaken by Dr. Chao has been published by The International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, a high-impact, peer-review journal that has long-established international acclaim. *Patent No. ___US 8,007,278,B2___, Patent No. __US 8,202,092B2___
