expectations placed on them by residents. As a parent, I have nearly the same amount of time interacting with the educational system in Monrovia. With my youngest son turning eighteen earlier this year, I had an opportunity to reflect on how each one of my three children fared through their educational careers in Monrovia. After 17 years as a parent in the educational
system, I am left with concerns that are shared by many friends and neighbors. Therefore, I am seeking your vote for a position on the Monrovia School Board! I will promote constructive dialog defining the concerns felt by members of the educational team – Parents, Students, Teachers, and Administrative Faculty. I will collaborate on developing solutions with
measurable results! No student should be frustrated with learning and No parent should be left frustrated with our educational system. Learning should be fun and teaching methods should be effective. I pledge to facilitate, promote, and reward programs and educators who share this ideal. Please visit scottpomrehn.net to learn more.

bring the Dual Immersion Language Program to our district, supported ways to bring in new revenue to our schools through new programs like the Math & Science Academy, the Chinese Exchange Student Summer Program and Saturday School for attendance recovery and supported the families and staff of our schools in insure Monrovia schools are safe, healthy thriving places to go to school and work. Each year programs like our Dual Immersion and Math and Science Academy bring students from other districts and
private schools. I am extremely supportive of both programs and finding ways to improve them, as well as expand them to other campuses or mediums to attract more students. As our District begins implementing Common Core, transitioning to a new testing model and a new funding formula, my experience will be invaluable to that process.
