CELEBRATING YEARS
A Message from the Foundation
For the past 16 years, we at the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation, have been continuously amazed and humbled by the unwavering generosity of our community donors. Our donors continue to be fundamental to the success of our organization and we would like to express heartfelt gratitude for every contribution made to help us support Brockville General Hospital’s Palliative Care Program and much needed hospital equipment for all in our community.
As with any organization, the Foundation has encountered its share of challenges over the past year. We are grateful to our valued Foundation staff who have demonstrated exceptional resilience, dedication, and commitment towards working together to promote both stability and growth. We are grateful to Joan Simon for stepping in as Interim Executive Director while an extensive and selective process to find a new Executive Director is finalized. In other HR news, we recently wished Lee Ann Grattan well after nine years as Executive Assistant, and have welcomed, Tanya Beale, no stranger to the BGH community, to fulfill this role. In addition, we also welcomed Sue Thomas, who has contributed her exceptional graphic design skills over the years in support of Friends of Palliative Care Golf Tournament. Sue has joined us to expand her contributions towards marketing of additional fundraising events.
Following last year’s extremely successful silent phase, the Your Health Your Hospital MRI/Equipment (YHYH) Campaign has been forging ahead into its public phase under the exemplary leadership of Co-Chairs, Dawn Tymianski and Scott MacCrimmon. Together with Joan, they are working with an enthusiastic group of community cabinet members and several successful events have already taken place. To date, $7 million of the $12.5 million YHYH goal has been raised with $5.5 million remaining! It is with mixed emotions that we share the news that the Heart and Solstice event hosted its’ 14th and final fundraising event for the Brockville Cardiovascular Program. A dedicated group of volunteers, over the past years, have ensured the sustainability of this essential program. THANK YOU!
In closing, the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Board and staff are most grateful to all of our donors and volunteers who support its work in raising funds to help support the program and equipment needs at Brockville General Hospital. Your generous contributions have such a positive and widespread affect towards the optimal health of all in our community.
Joan

THE BROCKVILLE AND DISTRICT HOSPITAL FOUNDATION’S ANNUAL APPEAL IS SHINING A LIGHT ON SURGERY
November 17, 2022: Last year, Brockville General Hospital performed nearly 8,000 surgeries that saved lives, improved the quality of life, and prevented further problems for the people of this area. The best lighting environment enhances a surgeon’s ability to do their job. Knowing that our operating rooms have the best fundamental pieces of equipment makes better patient care possible. Proper lighting is crucial so that every doctor who is operating can see the finest and most minute details of their delicate work.
Brockville General Hospital’s operating room lights are in need of replacing, and the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation is raising the needed funds to purchase new surgical lights. To assist in raising these funds, the Foundation recently mailed out over 2,600 annual appeal letters to its donor base and supporters. Anyone wishing to support the Annual Appeal can also donate on-line at www.bdhfoundation.com, or by calling in with a credit card number to the Foundation’s direct line at 613-345-4478.

Right here, with you.
After over 50 years with the current logo, we are excited to modernize our logo, and introduce a new tagline. “Right here, with you” is a promise. Our community will be here to help each other, no matter what. From staff and leadership, to volunteers, patients, families, friends, and neighbours, everyone responds when the community is in need, and we rise to the challenge together. Our logo design carries many meanings. It represents our region’s seasonal colouring and waves of the St. Lawrence River. Just as the river connects us and supports us. We support each other as a community. The logo design shows us coming together to build, support and sustain a healthy community. The blue also represents our long history, and the gold reflects the excellent care you expect from Brockville General.
Recognition of community support
To build our plan and redesign our brand, we engaged multiple groups and hundreds of individuals from our community and region. We believe the results show the commitment of our community, and we are grateful. Your continued support will help us see our vision, achieving excellence together, become reality.
