Housing Impact Report Dear Friend of BCM Georgia: Greetings! As the new President and CEO of BCM Georgia, it is my privilege to usher in the next chapter of this esteemed organization, and I am beyond grateful to have arrived here. Since its inception in 1987, BCM Georgia has helped people in need and in crisis in a caring, dignified manner. Our team’s endeavor is to work toward our mission: to keep people from becoming homeless and work to elevate their possibilities for economic empowerment. BCM Georgia envisions caring communities where everyone has a home and the opportunity to thrive. Our member churches and faith-based organizations fueled the creation and mission of BCM Georgia and remain supporters of the households we serve. As our statewide efforts grow beyond Buckhead, our support network has expanded to include nonprofit, municipal, and corporate citizens. The need for BCM Georgia is greater than ever. Here’s why ... • Georgia tops the list for income inequality and the highest wealth equity gap according to the Economic Policy Institute. • A shortage of affordable rental homes available to low-income households are leaving families cost-burdened with more than half of their income spent on housing. In a recent report by the National Low Income Housing Coalition, this is affecting quality of life as households sacrifice necessities including healthy food and healthcare. There’s a lot of work to do, and we stand ready to answer the call. As we blueprint our path for the future ahead, we encourage you to stay in touch. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you in person very soon. My contact information is to follow, and I invite you to reach out often. We are grateful for you and for your support throughout the last 35 years, and we look forward to many more decades of helping those who need BCM Georgia. All Our Best,

Shirley Anne Smith President & CEO ShirleyAnne@bcmgeorgia.org 678-399-8429

“I am so thankful for the assistance that BCM Georgia has provided me. I have faced many health challenges and had significant surgeries that have caused me to miss many hours of work. I feared that I would be homeless due to the pending eviction. Due to the diligent efforts of BCM Georgia, I can remain housed and catch up on my rent.” - BCM Georgia Emergency Assistance participant
