Circle C Moves In

The Devil’s Drum

Cain’s Trail

Trails of Rage

Texas Blood

Unwelcome Settlers

When Donal Cameron and his Circle C outfit moved in to the Rio Seco Valley a hot welcome was awaiting them. But Circle C could fight for their rights against all comers and won over the friendship of those who were straight and drove out those who were crooked. The Rio Seco wanted cleaning up. Circle C did the job.

When an eastbound freight train was halted by dynamite near Clarion City, Texas, Gregory Quist, the famous railroad detective, faced one of the most mystifying jobs of his eventful career. Murder was done before Quist learned what was in cans innocently labeled “Strawberry Jam”.

When a horsethief killed someone very close to the men of the Muleshoe cow outfit, differences were forgotten as Muleshoe went after a horsethief who was also a murderer. They caught him, and it was every man’s conscience for itself, but the older men knew exactly what to do.

There was one more trip left to the bank before the Rawley ranch would be paid up. But a couple of sidewindin’ bushwackers gunned down old Rawley and took the money. When young Scott Rawley found out who’d taken over the unpaid spread, he mounted up, iron hanging from his hip. The whole state of Texas wasn’t big enough to hide from the Rawley brand of justice!

Neil Sterret, who had never given much evidence of strength of character, decided to marry, go West, and then make a man of himself. He rather reversed the proper order of doing such things, but won out in spite of it. He encounters ‘Left Hand’, a man of mystery who is quick on the draw.

When Captain Jack Price of the Union Army arrives out West, he finds evidence that deadly attacks on stagecoach stations between Kansas and Colorado are the work of Confederate soldiers disguised as Indians. If the attacks continue successfully, the Rebels will be able to cut the West in two and stir up enough Indian trouble to keep Union soldiers tied up indefinitely.

Lazlo’s Strike

The Pillagers

Four Western stories by Louis L’Amour. In Big Medicine, old Billy Dunbar has discovered some great gold-bearing gravel. In Trail to Pietown, Dusty Barron’s idea of riding into Jarilla to make peace hits a few snags. In A Man Called Trent, ruthless rancher King Bill Hale needs to get rid of the local nesters to graze his cattle in the high country.

After a sweltering summer and bitter fall of shovelling sand, Hungarian immigrant Lazlo Kusik’s luck finally found him when he stumbled upon a thick vein of quartz webbed with strands of gleaming gold. But the find may end up killing Lazlo. For he still had to bring his treasure back to civilisation, through unforgiving territory filled with gold-hungry hardcases.

Chief Bog-o-nay-ge-shig, of the Chippewa, had complained to Washington that his people were being cheated out of their timberland. Craig Morgan, a known Indian rights advocate, was the perfect man to evaluate Chief Bog’s charges. But even as he arrived, the ruthlessness of the local pine baron, compounded by a racist U.S. marshall, had brought matters to a head.

To the ranchers’ aid comes Ben Anthony. His girl, Bess, has gotten herself engaged to Harry Odell, who is suspected of collaborating with the rustlers. What can drawling Ben do against a slick line of talk? He needs to respond with appropriate actions, even if that means fighting or killing.

By the time grizzled old Mike Cassidy had finished educating the wide-eyed-kid, Butch Cassidy had ridden with the Wild Bunch, the Hole-in-the-Wall Gang, the Rustlers of Robbers Roost, and he ruled – with lightning fists and iron will – the toughest gang in the annals of frontier history.

Dan Shea came to New Mexico Territory looking to achieve the American dream. When he meets a wealthy rancher with a beautiful daughter, Dan thinks he has it made. But there are plenty of others looking to wrest away the ranch Dan has built his future on. It starts with a holdup. Then escalates to murder. And soon Dan is wondering whether he’ll have any future left at all.

Leadville was the wildest boomtown in the West. Ruthless, untouchable, Quint Vining and his brothers murdered as they pleased, and bought their own acquittal. But they couldn’t buy gambler Cape Wallace. A steel-nerved loner, he challenged the Vinings to war. It was the gamble of his life, and the odds said Cape was playing his last hand.

The Stone Garden: The Epic Life of Billy the Kid

Salem Hardesty was on the move. Ever since his boys had been attacked by the Sioux, Salem suspected Rafe Perrine of smuggling guns to the Indians. Now – with Glenna’s father gone – he was sure. Salem wanted Perrine and his gang of rustlers – and he wanted them dead!

Astride his gelding, Deputy Ben Houston made a solitary silhouette riding the stark plains of Kansas. Ahead of him in the vast country rode a gang of murderous outlaws. Soon they would make a slip-up, and Ben had to be there in order to stop them . . .

Kit Carson’s Way

Rampage

Longhorn Empire

When Sam Cochran found out that Denker had planned on a special job – kidnapping the wife of the biggest rancher in the county – he knew he had to break it up before his brother Mitch got into something really over his head. Only Sam didn’t realise that he was on to a situation more explosive than one man could handle.

The Rio Kid faced a deadly riddle. Suddenly, without warning, Chief Wolfkiller and his peaceable Navahos had gone on a rampage, raiding and looting across the New Mexican range. Something, and someone, evil was behind it, and the Rio Kid and his good friend Kit Carson stood a fighting chance of solving the gunsmoke puzzle, before full-scale bloody war broke out.

The wild Colorado was Ben Roman’s ancient enemy, a foe he fought and hated and yet deeply respected. To Slim Lacey, the town girl who wanted him, Ben Roman was as wild and unpredictable as the river itself. It was a strange triangle – the man, the river, and the girl. Two hung breathless on the violent, wilful mood of the third.

Old John Webb reigned the range like a veritable overlord. Getting the herd across the river wasn’t his job, though. That task fell to his trail boss, Austin Brant, to figure out. Yet with rifle-toting hardcases willing to protect their parcels by any means necessary, even if Brant and Webb can get the longhorns over the river, they might not have long to live once they’re on the other side.
