Our MarCom team continued to provide information and education for our BBB Accredited Businesses, Partners, community members, and media throughout 2022.

Snapshot: Webinars: 17

Topics: Small Business Administration Updates, Online Reputation Management, Charity Review, Social Media Safety, Scam and Fraud Prevention Partner Webinars with CCCS of Rochester. Continued our partnerships with Google and SCORE Buffalo Niagara chapter to provide timely information for our BBB Accredited Businesses.

Social Media: Consistently added more video content to all platforms, integrated TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and Instagram Reels content to reach a larger audience. Saw increased growth on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. Began boosting Facebook posts much more often.

COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND CHARITY REVIEW HIGHLIGHTS

2022 Charity Review Highlights: Created "retro" postcard series mailed to all nonprofits in our 48 counties, continued to add renewal and firsttime charities to our program. Offered free usage of the Accredited Charity Seal in exchange to filming 90-sec charity videos for social media.

In 2022, we attended 20 events in person and over 50 events virtually through our Community Partners and Chambers of Commerce. We've had the opportunity to present on a variety of topics including fraud and scam prevention, online reputation management, and social media ethics.

For the 2022 Torch Awards for Ethics, BBB of Upstate NY received over 100 applications from all regions of Upstate and Western New York. Each year, a selected panel of judges evaluate the completed applications and their emphasis on Character, Culture, Community, and Customers. Each year, select businesses and nonprofits are selected to receive the Torch Award based on their answers to specific requirements of the application and any additional materials and documentation they choose to submit.

Melanie spent the afternoon with our Chamber partners in the Rochester/Finger Lakes Region. Took pictures of businesses with their plaques at the 2022 Buffalo Home Show. Chris, Lauren, and Melanie at their booth at Brides World 2022. Warren with the BBB of Metro New York at the New York Stock Exchange. Warren speaking spoke to the WNY Police Chief Association about scams and fraud.
