Wedding Photography, a Fashionable Visual Art

In this issue we bring to you the second part of the interview with Daniel Romero, Charly Castillo and Luis Montero, of RC Love Story Tellers Wedding Cinema Puerto Vallarta, who share with us their experience and anecdotes about their job: ABOUT THE CHALLENGES THEY FACE L. M. - We will split the question in two parts. The challenges with the couples and the challenges with the environment. The first one is easier to solve, as sometimes couples don’t know the work we do, and they have an ideal of a video, usually clips made in other with budgets they usually don’t know, or the spot where the event will take place is not what they really expected. We work it out by presenting different proposals, based on their budget, to see how far their idea is possible without losing our personal characteristics.

On the other hand, environment challenges are a bit more complicated, but we can solve them with a previous talk with the couples to make them aware of the situation. For example: working inside some Catholic temples in town. Some priests or the church staff forget that the couples are making an investment in order to record a moment that will never happen again. Although it is not so easy, we try not to interfere with the priests’ regulations, as at the end of the day the most important part is that everything flows smoothly for the bride and groom.

surcharges the hotel coordinator will make if they hire an external provider such as us. What we always do is to find a way to help the couples choose their best option. AN ANECDOTE THEY ALWAYS REMEMBER AND WANT TO SHARE D.R. – There is one I always remember, one time the bride was standing alone during half the mass with a face of “I am screwed”. Suddenly, a woman (I don’t remember if the mother or the mother-in-law) walked in dragging the bride. The whole scene was so funny!

L.M. – A couple had the bad fortune to have everything ready but the peace judge did not show up, so the whole family started to look for another judge to officiate something symbolic. Fortunately, the couple took it as a weird experience and enjoyed all the event. At the end, there was a symbolic ceremony, and later the original judge took all the papers to sign and of course, give back his fee money. ABOUT THE ADVICE THEY WOULD GIVE TO PEOPLE ABOUT TO GET MARRIED

L. M. – Once they have made the decision of uniting their lives, look for the adequate suppliers, those who create confidence and help them achieve the wedding of their dreams. One they click with, and super important, one whose job they know and respect. D.R – Don’t do it! And if you do, call us! Seriously now, my only advice is that in their budget, they have a 15% of the total cost considered for the costs of photography and video. as it is the only memory that will stay with them out of all the investment they will make.

The second challenge we usually deal with is the “all-inclusive wedding packages”, as since a few years ago these packages offer photographers and videographers by the hotel. This is a valid offer, but the truth is that every area of photography and video needs specialization, and the wedding professionals in the region are just a few, so we talk to the couple about some
