TRICARE SCAM ALERT Service members are advised to be on the lookout for checks being mailed to individuals with the official TRICARE logo and directions from American Mega Lottery Payment to activate and cash-in and attempt to obtain personal and financial information. TRICARE is aware of the scam. Summer Travel Information Passport control Traveling to another country? Remember, a passport is required when you cross any national border. Are you in Europe on orders? U.S. citizens are required to carry a passport when crossing any national border. Military assignment orders are not a substitute for a passport when crossing European country borders. You must carry your passport. It is required to carry a passport when crossing national borders. No other ID or official paperwork substitutes for a passport. Some European Schengen zone countries allow EU citizens to cross borders without passports. The agreement does not include U.S. citizens. Don’t forget your passport -- police in some European countries can pull vehicles over without suspicion of wrongdoing to check for them. Know the potential risks of crossing European country borders without a passport –detainment, search and illegal border crossing charges. Empty border posts at European national borders? U.S. citizens are still required to carry a passport when crossing.

What you need to know about Foreign Travel The time is upon us to get out and explore, but did you know that if you are Military or a DoD employee there are limits to where you can go? Have you ever wanted to go see the pyramids of Egypt – sorry, it’s not authorized for all military and DoD civilian personnel right now. Maybe you want to golf in Dubai – you may be able to do it, but you’re going to have to complete some additional paperwork and be approved by an O-6 before you can go!
