BATS THEATRE

NA NA NA NA NA BATMAP! FAQs Q: How early should I arrive before a show? A: We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before the show so you can collect your tickets from the Box Office and grab a drink from Lumen Bar!

2018 is the last year of our 20s and we sure did knock it out of the park. But the year’s not over and you best believe we have more theatrical treats coming your way.

Q: How do I book tickets? A: Head to bats.co.nz to book tickets online or call our Box Office on (04) 802 4175 after 5pm. If you prefer to keep things a bit fast and loose, rock up to the Box Office on the night, as we often have last minute door sales available.

We’re thrilled to have so many talented Kiwi artists here this September for NZ Theatre Month. In October, see three Pick of the Fringe shows, including the Best of Fringe return season of My Best Dead Friend. We’re also hosting NZ Improv Fest for once-in-a-lifetime (literally!) shows. Come explore the ways we communicate in Actual Fact, this year’s STAB commission.

10 January 1992, English tourist Margery Hopegood was murdered on the banks of the Waikato River, sending shock waves through NZ. Born here but adopted at birth, this was her pilgrimage to discover her birth story.

Why did France award the Legion d’Honneur, its highest accolade for exceptional courage, to a little known Kiwi woman from Ireland? War, bravery, romance: QA nurse Phyllis is sent to the front lines and finds the love of her life.

A story of dancing in the thick of it; connection, play and what makes us human. How do you make friends when they won’t stop hitting you with their car? How do you fall in love with someone when their words travel at 90mph?

Everyone’s favourite comedy duo, Hamish Parkinson (2015 Billy T Award winner, Hunt For The Wilderpeople, SNORT) and Ryan Richards (A Boy Wonder, Funny Girls, Jono and Ben), are back and better than ever. You gotta see this!

NA NA NA NA NA BATMAP! FAQs Q: How early should I arrive before a show?

2018 is the last year of our 20s and we sure did knock it out of the park. But the year’s not over and you best believe we have more theatrical treats coming your way. Lastly, we can’t wait to welcome you into The Random Stage! That’s right, The Propeller Stage is being renamed, and we’re very grateful for Random Group’s continued support. Love, BATS xxx GUANO 90 COVER ARTIST Peter O’Connor Peter is a year 12 at Burnside High School in Christchurch. He enjoys portraiture and street photography with a bit of architecture on the side. He’s collating a NCEA portfolio discussing human emotion evolving between nature and modern cities. Follow him on Instagram @peterspective.

A: We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before the show so you can collect your tickets from the Box Office and grab a drink from Lumen Bar! Q: How do I book tickets? A: Head to bats.co.nz to book tickets online or call our Box Office on (04) 802 4175 after 5pm. If you prefer to keep things a bit fast and loose, rock up to the Box Office on the night, as we often have last minute door sales available.

A: BATS has a stairclimber for access to and from The Heyday Dome and The Studio. BATS staff are trained in operating the device but to ensure two trained staff are available to assist, please provide 24 hours notice. The Random Stage is on the ground floor and has 3 movable seats that can be taken out to provide wheelchair spaces. Please let us know by 4.30pm on the day of your show if you require a wheelchair space.
