Alexander Thurlow By the time you read this, it’ll have been a very long two years since the last Jewellery & Watch Show… but it’s back! Now a glittering part of the MODA sector within Spring Fair, it plans to kick off the new season in style.

Spring Fair, the wholesale marketplace for home, gift, fashion, design and source, and home to Jewellery & Watch, is taking place from 6th to 9th February 2022 at NEC Birmingham. To set the tone, organiser Hyve has announced Empowering Change as the show’s manifesto for 2022, a manifesto that aims to set the agenda for the live show’s Inspiring Retail Stage as well as a year-round content programme.

Suzanne Ellingham, head of content at Hyve Group, says: “Retail is in a state of incredible transformation. Technology enables customers to shop anywhere, any time and in any way that they want. The competitive landscape has changed, and even online retailers are now facing increasing costs and hostile marketing conditions. In a time when staying the same means you’re moving backwards, expecting different results from the same tactics doesn’t make sense. I’m really excited about this year’s Empowering Change editorial theme. The schedule will be packed full of incredible speakers and participants, helpful and inspiring insights, newness as well as the essential trends for 2022 and beyond.”

On with

Targeting visitors across all of Spring Fair’s sectors and created as a platform to champion retail, the Inspiring Retail Stage’s full schedule of live content from experts in their field will provide insights, trend reports, keynote conversations and panel discussions on the key topics facing retail. Each of the four days of the show will cover a dedicated theme correlated to the Empowering Change manifesto.

Giving the show a welcome fillip ahead of the event, in December, Spring Fair was presented with the prestigious Trade Show of the Century Award at the Association of Event Organisers Centenary Party & Awards. Julie Driscoll, Hyve’s divisional managing director for retail, engineering and manufacturing, said: “I’m so delighted! This prestigious award goes to all employees and suppliers who have helped keep this brilliant exhibition delivering for its customers over the last 75 years.”

Georgia Wang

Established in 2019, Georgia’s pearl jewellery is designed “without borders of age, gender or stereotype.” Two collections will be unveiled: Quintessence and Burial of Rose. The former takes its concept from The Little Mermaid, the flowers referencing Ariel, the pearls refer to her tears and the bubbles in the sea. The latter takes the dark background of the Middle Ages, with vines twining to create baroque-like pieces.

Rodney Holman

“We will have lots of fantastic new designs at Spring Fair for you to tempt your customers. With brighter times on the horizon, there should be plenty of reasons for people to treat themselves and loved ones to fabulous jewellery. As always, there is no minimum order and delivery is free.”
