Inhorgenta Munich

It may have been postponed, for clear reasons, but come hell or high water, the Munich-based Inhorgenta trade fair is ready to show the industry can get together safely.

Gerstner Hans D Krieger S howcasing jewellery, watches and gemstones, it’s with a spirit of realism that the show has been postponed. Instead of mid-February Inhorgenta Munich will be held from 8th-11th April, 2022. The organisers regard Inhorgenta as “Europe’s most important industry get-together.” Show director Klaus Dittrich explains: “Our partners and customers long for the direct exchange onsite – and we ensure a safe trade-fair experience. The central element is that only those vaccinated, recovered and tested can participate. And we have well-ventilated halls, clever routing, distancing and hygiene rules.”

Among the new features at the show is the concept of the CARAT AREA in Hall C1, which will have a selection of top-notch international brands, some showing there for the first time. Themes of the show will be Innovation & Future Retail and Inspiration & Sustainability, highlighting that “the entire industry must face up to the consequences of digitalisation, especially for the retail sector and its responsibility regarding sustainability.”

“The future retail landscape will be shaped by several major changes: we are increasingly seeing digital channels and hybrid concepts, and at the same time conscious, sustainable and mindful shopping is coming to the fore,” says Theresa Schleicher (Future Institute), who has provided insights for Inhorgenta’s Trendfactory. “The luxury segment will grow in the sustainability sector in the future. And then we see the desire for strong individualisation, but also the longing of public spirit and community. Customers want speed and availability, as well as a reason to peruse and window shop.”
