EducationUSA’s “Your 5 Steps to U.S. Study” guides international students through the steps to apply and be admitted to U.S. colleges and universities. This guide provides free advice about applying to undergraduate, graduate and English-language programs, and shortterm educational opportunities.

Step 1: Research Your Options defines types of U.S. degrees, institutions and financial aid, provides resources to search among the thousands of accredited U.S. institutions, and explains tests that are generally required. “Define Your Priorities” helps students think about the course of study, type of institution, and setting that will best suit their needs. Step 2: Complete Your Application discusses application timelines, general application requirements, personal essays or statements of purpose, and letters of recommendation. Step 3: Finance Your Studies combines tips for developing a budget, reducing educational costs, and searching for sources of scholarships and other financial aid.
