Elf the Musical - Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace

Moderate Ages 18+

After discovering he really is a human raised as an elf, Buddy makes the journey from the North Pole to New York City to find his birth father, sharing the true meaning of Christmas along the way. Elf the Musical brings heart, hilarity, and holiday joy. After all, the best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear! Based on the hit Christmas film, the musical adaptation was nominated for one Drama League Award. Lunch choice is grilled chicken kabob or grilled vegetable cavatappi. Trip includes lunch, show ticket, and transportation. Registration deadline is 12/08.

A Chorus Line - Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace

This impassioned backstage look at the intimate lives of dancers auditioning for a Broadway chorus brilliantly combines stunning song and dance with a compelling, moving story. Beloved around the world, “A Chorus Line” is the ultimate love letter to Broadway and features memorable numbers including “What I Did for Love,” “One” and “Hope I Get It.” Lunch choice is grilled chicken kabob or grilled vegetable cavatappi. “The Sound of Music” at Paramount Theatre

How do you solve a problem like Maria? When carefree nun-in-training Maria is sent by her convent to be the governess of seven children, she finds herself unexpectedly questioning her choices in life and falling in love with the children’s stern father, all while the events of World War II play out in the background. One of the most beloved musicals of all time and a holiday favorite, “The Sound of Music” has enchanted audiences for more than 50 years. Experience it for the first time or all over again at Paramount Theatre, where their lobby will be decked out in Christmas decorations, including a two-story Christmas tree. Trip fee includes transportation, show ticket, and lunch. Menu will be garden salad, rolls, baked ham, roasted red potatoes, corn, and cookies & brownies. Registration deadline is Thursday, 12/15.

Bowling at Funway

Moderate Ages 21+

Join us for lunch and a good old-fashioned game of bowling at Funway. The outing starts with lunch at Harner’s Restaurant in North Aurora, then continues on to Funway to bowl two games. Price includes transportation and bowling. (Lunch is not included in the trip price; you will pay for your own meal.) Registration deadline is Tuesday, 01/03.

Bald Eagle Viewing at Starved Rock

Moderate Ages 21+

You will be mesmerized by the beautiful bald eagles at Starved Rock. The colder the weather, the better the viewing! Once we arrive at Starved Rock, we will take a heated trolley to the Illinois Waterway Visitor Center for eagle viewing and an educational program. Ticket price includes the tour and your selection from the lunch menu. Dress warmly and bring your binoculars, spotting scopes, and cameras. The tour will start with lunch in the main dining room at 11 a.m. Registration deadline is Monday, 01/02.

Trip to Woodfield Mall

Challenging Ages 21+

Come along on this shopping trip to the largest mall in Illinois, Woodfield Mall. With more than two million square feet of retail shops, restaurants and amenities to explore, you’ll want to wear comfortable shoes! Choose one of Woodfield’s many restaurants to eat lunch; you’ll pay on your own. Registration deadline is Tuesday, 02/07.

Movie and Lunch at Hollywood Palms Cinema

Easy Ages 21+

Enjoy a showing of “The Music Man” and lunch at Hollywood Palms Cinema in Naperville where we will enjoy seating in a private theater all to ourselves. Order lunch off the menu and eat while you watch! You will pay for lunch on your own. Registration deadline is Tuesday, 01/17.

Elgin Culinary Lunch

Moderate Ages 21+

Join the fun as we travel to Elgin Community College for a lunch prepared and served by students preparing for careers in the hospitality industry. We will visit the Spartan Terrace Restaurant, which is their working classroom and take a brief tour of the department before lunch. The menu includes entrees, small plates, soup, salad, beverages, and dessert. (Lunch is not included in the trip price; you will pay for your own meal.) Registration deadline is Monday, 02/13.

“Into the Woods” at Paramount Theatre

Moderate Ages 21+

A red cape, a strand of yellow hair, a golden shoe, and a white cow. It’s these four items that send a baker and his barren wife through the woods on a magical journey to reverse a spell cast by an evil witch. Throw in “Little Red Riding Hood,” “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Rapunzel,” and “Cinderella” and you have one of the most astounding and original fairytale retellings the stage has ever seen. If you’ve seen “The Little Mermaid,” Beauty and the Beast,” or “Cinderella” on Paramount’s stage, then you know the spectacle and extravagance that awaits you in Stephen Sondheim’s brilliant reimagining. St. Patrick’s Day Lunch & Shopping in Naperville

Quigley’s Irish Pub was designed and built in Ireland and then shipped to its current location. The interior includes an authentic antique fireplace and bookcases from Dublin, and custom glass and Irish prints fill the walls. It’s the perfect time of year to have fish & chips or shepherd’s pie for lunch on your own! Take a short walk to downtown Naperville for some shopping after lunch. Trip fee includes transportation only. Registration deadline is Friday, 03/03.

Graham’s Chocolates Visit and Tea

Moderate Ages 21+

Learn the history of the cocoa bean and how chocolate is made at Graham’s Fine Chocolates in Geneva. Enjoy a small sample and shop for goodies! We will then head over to The Little Traveler for tea time and shopping. The tea includes scones, tea sandwiches, and sweets. Registration deadline is Monday, 03/20.

Kenny and Dolly in Harmony at Starved Rock Lodge

Moderate Ages 21+

Dave Karl & Wendy T are together once again at the Starved Rock Lodge to recreate the incredible songs and the onstage playfulness of Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton’s “Real Love” tour. This tribute act has it all: the songs, the mannerisms, the vocals, the professionalism, and of course, the charm, magic, and the on-stage playfulness of Kenny and Dolly. Show starts at 11:30 a.m. The trip includes a buffet lunch, show, and transportation. Registration deadline is Thursday, 03/09.

“School of Rock” at Paramount Theatre

From the genius mind of Andrew Lloyd Webber comes a rousing, feel-good and inspirational story of kids at a prestigious prep school. Wannabe rocker Dewey Finn has just been kicked out of his band, he can’t pay rent, and his life is falling apart. When he scams his way into a teaching job meant for his roommate, Dewey turns a class of straight-A pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mindblowing rock band. Dewey’s love of music and rock soon inspires the kids to pursue what they love. Based on the hit movie starring Jack Black, “School of Rock” inspires, entertains, and flat-out rocks.
