Words from the Creative Director Bringing awareness to all I would like to think of those with Dyslexia as ‘Creative Thinkers’ we have that one thinking mechanism to process information in a unique way. I chose to set up Dyslexia for the Wise because dyslexia and others like it seemed to go un noticed and unaided, having been diagnosed with Dyslexia myself I noticed that a lot of people, Companies, Organisations and Schools were unaware just how many people have Dyslexia and was not sure what support was needed. I am very passionate when it comes to spreading awareness about what Dyslexia is, Dyslexia for the wise aim is to support young people and adults through the provision of Diagnostic Assessments, Educational Programmes, Workshops and Training. We hope that by supporting the community with Dyslexia and others like it will enable individuals to flourish and have the freedom to move forward in life with positive selfassurance.

Dyslexia For The Wise

Dyslexia Awareness Week Dyslexia for the wise joined forces with Cllr Nicola Nardelli former Mayor of Wandsworth 2015/2016 and Aspire to Inspire Dyslexia to present an event that was informative, inspiring and educational for Dyslexia Awareness week. The aim of this event was to bring awareness through Guest Speakers, Performances, Art and a plethora of stalls that contained information, learning aids and charities that geared towards Dyslexia and other learning challenges. The event took place in Wandsworth Civic suite and it kicked of with an opening speech from Cllr Nicola Nardelli. All who attended had one thing in common they were either Dyslexic or knew someone who had Dyslexia or some other learning challenges. Throughout the day various guest speakers told their inspiring story on how Dyslexia changed their life. 12 year old Jasmine shared her story on having dyslexia and what it was like for a child of today’s standards to have dyslexia in such an ever quick changing world. The current Mayor of Wandsworth Richard Field spoke about his son having dyslexia and going on to be a very successful fashion designer. A lot of the stories shared had many positives and success which begs the question why is the education system still continuing to not acknowledge it.
