Borough Residents And Employees Honored At Annual Reorganization Meeting
Hometown Heroes Mayor Klaus presents the Barrington’s Hometown Heroes Award to Pat and George Jones. Long-time residents, Pat has served as a member of Borough Council and as a County official, as well as our NJ Assemblywoman. George has served on many boards and committees, and currently holds the post of Zoning Administrator in the Borough. Barrington’s Best Councilwoman Patti Nicholson presents the award for Barrington’s Best to Lisa Haas. The award recognizes her dedication to her students as a teacher and mentor. Volunteers of the Year The work of the entire Harvest Festival Committee was recognized by Councilwoman Patti Nicholson. Under the leadership of its chairperson, Mindy Berwick (left), the committee recently completed the successful venture’s 18th year of community pride.
Police Officer of the Year Councilman Wayne Robenolt and Police Chief Dave Roberts presented the honor to Patrolman Patrick D’Ascenzo in recognition of his outstanding devotion to duty in serving the residents of our Borough. Employee Service Awards Mayor Klaus presented honors to Linda McHugh for 30 years of service to the Police Department, and to Corporal Bob Uron for 20 years of service. Ken Broome was also recognized for 20 years of service to the Department of Public Works, but was unable to attend. Mayor’s Award of Excellence Council President Kirk Popiolek was honored by Mayor and Council for his persistence and dedication in bringing the Wawa project on the White Horse Pike through to completion.
