2016 Barnesville Pumpkin Festival
The Barnesville Pumpkin Festival Hog Calling contest will be held Saturday, September 24 at 6:00pm on the Pumpkin Stage. Women and men vie in separate divisions with the holleroff determining the Grand Champion. A child’s division for children, age 5-8 and age 9-15 with prizes of $10 and small trophy for First; $5 for Second and $3 for Third. The Adults 16 and over: Men’s Division - First Place - $10 and Hat; Second Place - $5 and Hat; Third Place - $3 and Hat. Women’s Division
- First Place - $10 and Mug; Second Place - $5 and Mug; Third Place - $3 and Mug. Scoring is based on 50% loudness, 25% crowd reaction and 25% originality. Pre-registration is done at 5:30pm at the Pumpkin Stage prior to the contest. For information, contact chairperson Tiny Reed at (740) 425-2906. women age 16 & up category Tommie Lindel of Barnesville won 1st place, Carly Riggi of Jefferson, PA won 2nd place, and Kathryn Toohey of Freeport won 3rd place. In the age 9 to 15 category Kami Kuhar of Cambridge won 1st place, Faith Galovich of Bethesda won 2nd place, and Camdon Toohey of Barnesville won 3rd place. In the age 5 to 8 category Aleah Brown of Cameron won 1st place, Paige Williamson of Quaker City won 2nd, and Riley Peddicord of Barnesville won 3rd place.
