IMPORTANT INFORMATION (All fees are subject to change)
1. ROOM RESERVATION FEE A $50 non-refundable/non-transferable room reservation fee will be charged for each semester a student applies for housing at Hinds Community College. THE $50.00 ROOM RESERVATION FEE IS NON-REFUNDABLE/NON-TRANSFERABLE. 2. Complete, sign and date this application and return it to the Housing Department with the required $50.00 room reservation fee. To update and have a room the next semester, the student must pay $50 room reservation fee. 3. If you decide to cancel your housing application, provide, in writing, a notice of cancellation to the Housing Department no later than 10 working days prior to the opening of the residence halls to prevent additional charges for room and meals. 4. The Raymond Campus is now offering Guaranteed Student Housing if you have a composite ACT score of 21 or higher. Two residence halls have been set aside to foster these students’ outstanding academic efforts. 5. All preferences selected in the “Preference Information” section will be given consideration and will be honored in accordance with availability at the time of assignment. Preferences are not guaranteed. 6. Student must maintain 12 or more hours of classes. 7. All tuition and fees must be paid by check, cash, completed Financial Aid, credit card or HCC Deferred Payment Plan before a key to your residence hall room will be issued.
8. Student must maintain cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher and have good standing with the college. 9. Student must check in and claim room by 4 p.m. on the date assigned by Housing Office. 10. Students must be at least 17 years of age to live on campus, unless given special permission by the Dean of Students on the Raymond or Utica campus. 11. A conviction for sex offense will result in the applicant being ineligible for housing. All other felony convictions will be reviewed on a case by case basis and College Student Housing has the discretion to deny on-campus housing to an applicant who has been convicted of a felony, if it appears that the applicant has personal history that presents an unacceptable risk to the residence hall community. Failure to answer and initial the felony question on the student housing application form will result in on-campus housing being denied. 12. Confirmation of room status will come from the Housing Department.
