Summary In this chapter we’ve looked at the general techniques involved in drawing icons, but each context has its own specific requirements and artwork styles. For instance, when creating toolbar, navigation or tab bar icons for iOS, you don’t need to worry about selecting the correct colour and making an image for each state. iOS uses the alpha channel from your image and automatically displays the correct colour and any highlight or shadow effect.
