RULES 2nd Iludo Board Game Design Contest, called up by Asociación Banshee Errante. The rules that will regulate the contest are the following: 1. The Contest is opened to all the board game designers, that don’t have publish more than 3 games before this contest start. Only can participate board games unpublished (from now proto-games), that isn’t been edited previously, nor by external publishers, auto edited, or by the course of a crowdfunding campaign. Board games published in internet can be presented if they haven’t been commercialised. The games presented can be of any kind, except games that need informatics systems in the essentials to play them. The games also can be made for any number of people.

2. The Contest have three phases: First phase • Delivery of the rules (until 21st May, 2016) and first selection. Second phase • Delivery of the mock-up of the pre-selected games and video presentation (until 17th June, 2016) and finalist selection. Finalists •Jury’s verdict and winner’s announcement (9th July, 2016). 3. Participants have to send: • Game rules and a photo or image of their components. The rules mustn’t exceed 10.000 symbols. They also will send: • a document with the personal author data (name, address, contact phone and e-mail) and the proto-game’s name. • a document with the following game data: name, target (children, family, experienced gamers, other), players age, players number, length game, physic materials game and game theme. It will be added a fiction turn game description All this paperwork will be sent by e-mail, only using these formats: .pdf, .doc and .jpeg to: concurso.iludo@gmail.com, until 21st June, 2016 (limit date) Documents must be sent in Catalan or Spanish. 1


Whole documents won’t exceed 25 Mb of size.

4. An author won’t submit more than 2 games. The Contest organization will reply to the digital documents messages sent. In this edition only will be accepted a maximum of 30 proto-games, in arrival order. From this number, the candidates that send an e-mail will receive a response indicating that the quota is full.

5. Preselected games authors will be informed by e-mail from the 6th June, 2016, and in the same message, they will be asked about make a explanatory video and a complete game mock up ready to be played and they will be given an address to the delivery, that will be done until 17th June 2016. Damages that could receive the games during the delivery won’t be attributable to the contest organization. Author’s name won’t appear in the documents sent (rules, board game and other game elements, box, etc.). Game mock-ups will be sent to a postal address given in the next messages. Game mock-ups will be part of the Asociación Banshee Errante protogame play centre The rest of mock-ups will be back in the Iludo days if the authors are present. In other way, they will be sent by certified mail to their authors before 30th November 2016, if there is in peninsular national territory, or cash on delivery if it isn’t. Videos will be no longer than 20 minutes of explanation about de game for the jury. The author of the video accepts the permission to use it by the Contest organization for this goal.

6. Preselected games will be tested and will be chosen a maximum of 5 to be finalists. Finalist Game authors will be informed about this phase by email.

7. A Jury formed by board game specialists will be gather the 9th July 2016, to value and mark the finalists. If a force majeure would interrupt this calendar, Jury would be gathered in future. The Jury’s judgement will be unappealable. It will be appreciate the originality, the playable capacity, the public adaption and the finalist games cultural values. Also it will be appreciate the clearly rules. Definitively, the Jury will keep in mind the graphic design, the illustrations or the quality level of the mock up or the video. 2


8. Jury’s verdict will be publish 9th July 2016, during the Iludo days and the diplomas will be delivered to the finalists. The contest winner will pick up the prize the same day in case of attend to the Iludo days. In other case, the organization will contact with him, by e-mail or phone. The Jury can declare null and void, if it is required. Jury can award a second prize to a finalist game if it is worthy of it.

9. The 2nd Iludo Board game Contest winner will have the possibility of funding their game with a crowdfunding campaign in Verkami, with a initial contribution of 50€ and with a 20% discount about the platform by Verkami, including editing collaboration and personal advising. The second prize will be a code discount with value of 50€ in Spielmaterial by the same website (spielmaterial.de). This conditions are validity until 31st December 2016. Rewarded people will count with the support in the media by Asociación Banshee Errante and Verkami. In addition, the 5 finalists will have a space to present their protogame to the Iludo days attended public.

10. If the winner game would be published finally through the suggested conditions it have to name the 2nd Iludo Protogame Contest and asociation Banshee Errante.

11. Involvement in the Contest means the entire rules approval of these rules. In opposite, the game would be automatically excluded. .
