Scaling new heights and smashing a 20-year record Bankstown Sports Athletics Club member Jack Hicking has had an outstanding year. After setting a personal best height of 5.05 metres at the Bankstown Invitational Athletics Meet in March this year, the 19-year-old has continued to take records. On June 19, Jack broke the NSW Open (all ages) and record for Under 20s, which had stood for 20 years. He jumped a personal best of 5.26 metres, moving up the national rankings to first in the Under 20 years category, and second in the Opens category.
Good times to bowl you over Bankstown Sports Club proudly supports indoor bowling sessions for women on Thursdays from 10.30am – 1.30pm and for men and women (mixed) on Thursday evenings from 6.45pm – 9.30pm. Members of the indoor bowling clubs enjoy the social atmosphere, companionship, and friendly competition.

Just 5 weeks later at the World Junior Athletics Championships, Jack did it again, smashing his latest record to clear 5.40 metres resulting in a world junior ranking of 7th. Bankstown Sports Club assisted the Hicking family raise funds to cover Jack’s expenses with a bingo night fundraiser. More than 100 people attended and nearly $3,000 was raised. The Hicking family would like to thank family, friends and businesses for their generous support.
