SEASON 11 SEASON JV Boys’ Volleyball

The season’s stats were 9 and 1. Nine straight wins, with the only one defeat being the BISAC final. A bitter end indeed, to what was otherwise a great season. We had a considerable advantage with a lot of taller players this year, especially with the new net height at Varsity of 2.43m. The middle blockers were able to adapt easily and proved to be our most effective attacking option but at outside, we could not quite find the vertical to be as effective. Throughout the season we spent a considerable amount of time on serve and serve receive to ensure our setters were given plenty of good first balls. We still struggled on serve receive and were almost undone by a single player from RIS at BISAC. Once we had established positions, the season went just fine. Undefeated in the League and looking forward to BISAC. We made the final and met TCIS, who we had comfortably beaten in the League. Although it appeared that the opposition had a new outfit at BISAC, we still managed to win the first set 25 - 15. However, unable to hold our nerves, we lost the second set 24 - 26 and then the final set. A thoroughly enjoyable season and I am sure that a number will move onto Varsity next year, with a number of seniors graduating.
