FROM THE EDITOR’S DESK DESTINY’S CHILD The recently concluded CLC Mega Conference has got me reflecting about my Destiny and God’s purpose in my life. It was a re-affirmation that there is a plan, a specifically designed destiny for each person on this planet. This future is productive, fulfilling and very rewarding — if we just stay on the right path, and if each of our every step is directed by the one and only acceptable life manual there is — God’s Word. The Women’s Breakfast conference had the most impact personally, as it stressed to us, ladies — “Never fear.” Jesus said in Mark 5:36, Be not afraid, only believe. But oftentimes we worry a lot about things that are not even bound to happen. These unreasonable, unnecessary fears weigh us down and will eventually give us a spirit of negativity. Our pessimistic attitude and fear of failure are factors that keep us from the destiny that God has created for us as His children. It’s high time to get rid of our fears and face life with renewed hope, vigor and optimism. As Joyce Meyer puts it, “You will do yourself a favor if you start thinking right thoughts so that you will also choose right actions. Sowing the right actions into your day will form new habits. As you begin to operate in those new

habits, you will change in your character. And as your character changes, you will move into the destiny that God has for you. By God's power you can live in the newness of life.” We are thrilled to bring you in this summer issue inspiring articles that burst with the newness of life and heartfelt testimonies of young people who have experienced God. Witness a story of healing and restoration faced by a pastor’s son so he can finally be what God wants Him to be, news bits on exciting events church-wide in the second quarter of the year, the rousing testimony of one of CLC Toronto’s Champions, a summary of Pastor Jerry Berenguer’s preaching that talks about Walking in One’s Destiny, and biblical pointers on how to overcome the fear of rejection. Also, we are featuring here stories on two separate joyous occasions where wondrous waves of the Holy Spirit seemed to have moved powerfully among the children and the youth, empowering them this early to rise up and flow in the Spirit of Christ so that they, too, may find it easy to discover and fulfill their own God-given destinies. CLC SCARBOROUGH CELEBRATES MOTHERS’ DAY AND FATHERS’ DAY ALA MODE BACK TO THE 70’S The Mother’s Day celebration at CLC Scarborough brought us back in time - all the way to the era of bell bottoms, afro hairstyles, hippies (peace, brother!) and Grease themed music and dance numbers. To the young once, it revived lots of good ‘ol memories while to the much younger ones, it gave a taste of how it was like in the 70’s. The Centre was blessed with a wonderful speaker, TV icon Kathy Mainse, who, together with her two daughters, delivered an awakening and inspirational message about anguish in the churches and getting ready for Christ’s imminent coming. She also enthused everyone to be on fire in spreading the good news. After the service, the celebration went on with a program hosted by Lorraine Mendoza and Tristton Acut. The program opened with a serenade of 70’s Tagalog songs presented by the dads, which was concluded by the giving of the roses to the special women in their lives. The fathers, assisted by the Youth, also prepared sumptuous dishes for everyone to partake. Everyone was entertained by the special song and dance numbers presented by the Sunday school kids in their retro outfits, the Youth and Young Adults in their exciting John Travolta number, and the fathers dancing to 70’s music. Phil Nolasco also gave a heartrending speech about the importance of a mother in a person’s life while the children were given the chance to give heartwarming mothers’ day greetings to their moms. The occasion closed with a presentation of a surprise birthday cake to Pastora Elvie Berenguer. The celebration paved the way for fellowship and was indeed an encouraging and fun-filled time for everyone. · BY RENEE JOYCE VERSOZA

KING OF THE JUNGLE

DISCOVERING YOUR DESTINY

The Father’s Day celebration had a safari theme so the majority in the congregation, even the babies sported different kinds of jungle attire. The atmosphere was all the more highlighted with the stage decorated with tree branches bearing various animal stuff toys. The esteemed guest speaker who also happens to be a father, Pastor Roy Verzosa, gave an insightful and enlightening sermon about the heritage of righteousness and gave away valuable pointers on how fathers (and mothers) can become better parents to their kids. The celebration continued with a program hosted by Louella Rebaya who splendidly acted as a tour guide of a safari team. An action song number was presented by the Sunday school kids. Two song numbers were impressively rendered by Rhett Dela Cruz along with Daryll Calpito on keyboards. Lorraine Mendoza and Phil Nolasco performed a marvelous interpretative dance about the Father’s great love for us. A new girls’ band composed of the youth (Elisha Porras, Jill Samson, Bea Galang, Kat Ruiz, Hannah Belleza, Rejoyce Verzosa, Shaylyn Barotil) and Daryll Calpito also delivered a song number. The occasion was concluded by Matthew Porras and Andrew Acut singing You Raised Me Up as a tribute for the fathers. An appetizing dinner was served afterwards. It was really a wild and enjoyable celebration!

Champion Life Centre Brampton was blessed with the presence of Dr. Bill Moore, along with his wife, Pastor Anne Moore, who talked to God’s people, from June 2 to June 5, about their divine destiny during the mega Destiny Conference. The couple reminded the champions to “press on towards the goal to win the prize…” (Philippians 3:14) Hundreds of people came out to listen to the Word of God, and how they can fulfill their divine destiny. On the evening of June 2, Pastor Jerry Berenguer opened up the conference by preaching Walking in Destiny. Everyone was reminded that each one has a divine destiny in God. His opening message had people receiving God’s Word, and caused everyone to get excited about the rest of the conference. The morning of June 3, Dr. Bill Moore held a leadership-training seminar. He taught The Five Principles of Team Victory, and how to be an effective leader. In the evening, the youth and young adults came out to receive the message from Dr. Bill at the Youth and Young Adult Rally. His message on The Invisible Teenager had a powerful impact on the lives of the youth and the young adults who had attended; they got excited about what God has in store for them. On June 4, Pastor Anne Moore talked to the women during the Women of Destiny conference in the morning. God used Pastor Anne to encourage women to move forward in God and be confident that all of the fear they have will pass. In the evening, Dr. Bill held a general session that was open to everyone. He talked about His Faithful Favor, and when one steps into God’s obedience, they advance into the next level of God’s favor. On Sunday morning, Dr. Bill preached to the CLC Brampton congregation the topic, Your Life Message. He explained that our lives are living testimonies of God’s message. In the afternoon, Dr. Bill changed venues and gave a message about Winning God’s Favor to the Scarborough branch of Champion Life Centre. In CLC Toronto, Pastor Anne preached about being a Rescuing Generation. The Destiny Conference was truly a blessed weekend, filled with excitement, and discovery of what it means to have a divine destiny. People were blessed indeed, as they received God’s Word through Dr. Bill and Pastor Anne.

EASTER PRESENTATIONS AT CLC TORONTO, SCARBOROUGH AND BRAMPTON The month of April gave way to three spectacular and convicting CLC Easter presentations in Toronto, Scarborough, and Brampton. The staging of The Victor by Brampton and Scarborough, and the presentation of The Seven Last Words by Toronto were exceptional. From the song numbers rendered by the Dazzling Divas with Jerry Doton, Scarborough Choir, special numbers from Elman Macasaet, Rhett Dela Cruz, Ian Millan, Christian Almojuela and many other singers, a heart-stirring mime from the Brampton youth, and the tear-jerking drama skits that demonstrated the passion of the Christ, down to the well-designed backdrops and colorful costumes – everything was outstanding.

The CLC members and their guests were incredibly moved and blessed by the overall performances and the sermon delivered by Pastor Jerry Berenguer in the 3 CLC branches. The cast and crew of Creative Arts in the 3 GTA branches magnificently displayed their passion and dedication for the Lord as they gave their time and effort to this yearly church endeavor. The main purpose of the performances was to evangelize to the lost. The ministry was successful at fulfilling its objective as dozens of people have responded to the Altar Call.To most, it was a glorious opportunity to receive Christ as their Lord and Saviour, and to others, it was a time to recommit their lives to the Lord. · BY RENEE JOYCE VERSOZA

MEET OUR

CHAMPIONS Janette Panlaqui I am honored to write about another one of CLC’s unsung heroes. Her name is Janette Panlaqui, a God-fearing woman who has been serving at CLC Toronto. When asked about her involvement at CLC, she states that she has been involved in the Toronto satellite since its launch in August 2003. “I was invited by a fellow Christian whom I was with at International Christian Assembly in Hong Kong. I have been serving for more than 7 years now.” Indeed, Sister Janette first got involved with the Creative Arts Ministry (mostly dance), Worship Ministry, Sunday School, Youth group, leading a care group and recently became one of the L5. Behind the scenes, she choreographs dances for special events. Inspired by her faithfulness, I asked her to describe some of the most difficult challenges she has faced as a child of God. Her insightful response was “My father’s sudden death and shortly after that, discovering that my mother has cancer. I was able to overcome by taking hold of God’s Word and His promises, trusting Him and believing that He is in control of every situation I go through. Some of the verses that always encourage me are: James 1:2-8, Romans 8:37, John 16:33.” This mighty woman of God has two prominent motivating factors in her life. The first is the Amazing love of God, she says, “It compels and motivates me to live faithfully every single day when I think of God and all that He has done for me.” The second factor is the Blessed Hope, which

Above: Brampton presentation, Left: Scarborough, Bottom Right: Toronto Church

she describes as “the hope that one day I will be going to heaven to be with Him.” When asked to name one of the most influential people in her life, she acknowledges Pastor Henry Laxamana. “He encouraged me to accept my call in the Ministry, especially being part of the L5. I was hesitant at first because I felt that I was too young and incapable to be part of the leaders. But he reminded me that God enables those He calls. His life testimony about being a timid person to becoming a bold and courageous man of God truly inspired me.” Finally I asked Sister Janette what she thinks of the summer season. “1 Corinthians 9:10, Galatians 6:9 speaks about harvest. It reminds me of God’s provisions, blessings, His grace, thanksgiving, outpouring and shower of His love and goodness, family, sharing, and hope--- the beauty of summer gatherings is like enjoying the presence of God and enjoying the presence of one another as a family.” Truly, Sister Janette shows us that you are never too young nor too old to serve God. Let us all learn from her example of trusting God through difficult times and unknown places, enjoying God’s blessings along the way. For where His leading is, His provision follows.

SERMON SNIPPETS

Walking in Your Destiny By Ptr. Jerry Berenguer Have you ever wondered what God’s plan is for you? Even before you were born, God already designed the path of your destiny! But the question is - are you heading in the same direction? Are you willing to follow the same path? Many people today coast through life without understanding their destiny. They go through the normal routines and motion of life but do not really have a sense of their God-given destiny this is because it is spiritually discerned. That is, if you are not in tune with the Spirit of God, then you will not know it. This is a reality that applies to the world including many worldly Christians today. But God’s desire is that you and I will walk in our divine destiny. In Phil 3:13-14 (NIV) the Apostle Paul said, “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward

6

SUMMER 2011 | ISSUE 03

what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus,” and we see here that there is a call to forget what is behind and to rise above to the calling of God and live up to it. In reality it is sad to see that there are too many Christians nowadays who have stayed in the realm of the average and idleness, thinking this is what God wants, but Paul said to “press on towards the goal to win the prize”. You and I were called heavenwards, and to fulfill our divine destiny. Our destiny is in God we begin with God and we end in God.

“You have the power and authority over your situations because you are seated with Christ.”

YOU ARE DESTINED TO BE A CHILD OF GOD God’s desire is for you to be His son or daughter. Eph 1:4-6 (NIV) says, “For He chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us for adoption to son ship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and will — to the praise of His glorious grace, which He has freely given us in the One He loves.” It is God’s will and pleasure that you become a child of God. You have been chosen and you have been predestined to this divine position, in order that you might bring praise to Him. Such an honour bestowed to you came at a price - paid for by the blood of Jesus Christ, who died for you so that you can become a child of God. Understanding what it meant to be a child of God puts meaning in your life. The bible says that

SERMON SNIPPETS as a child of God, you no longer live for yourself but for Christ, who lives through you. This gives you a renewed life as you grow into a mature son or daughter of God. As a child of God, you now carry with you the government and anointing of God, His nature and His ability. You are destined to be a child of God and you need to walk in that destiny. Stand firm in who you are with God! You are not who you think you are, but you are who God says you are! You have what He says you have! You can do what He says you can do! You are a son or daughter of God and you are to take orders from the King of kings! Stop trying to be a child of this world and be influenced by the world, stop running away from God and trying to do things on your own. Everywhere you go, act like a child of God – walk in your destiny. In these last days, rise up and walk in your destiny to make a difference in this world. There is power when believers walk in their destiny and in the calling and gifting that God had created them to be.

YOU ARE DESTINED TO SUCCEED 1 Sam 18:14 (NIV) “In everything he did he had great success, because the LORD was with him” tells us that David was successful because the Lord was with him. The word “everything he did” was according to the will of God for his life – his destiny. A kingdom principle that means you will not succeed doing whatever you want to do, but it is God Who enables you to succeed in everything you do. You are destined to succeed because God already made that promise in Gal 3:29 (NIV) where it says “if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.” You are an heir of God’s promise of blessings, you are destined to succeed. Jesus came to restore our authority and power through His death and resurrection. He came that you may have life and have it more abundantly. He came for you to succeed in your divine destiny. As a child of God, you are an overcomer. Do not be anxious of financial crises and be fearful of economic shakings around you - God’s favour is upon you! Do not fear as God will give you the wisdom and will enable you to take over and have influence on the people around you. When faced with circumstances, be encouraged of what the Apostle Paul said in Phil 4:13 (NIV), “I can do all these through Him who gives me strength,” so press on, move forward and overcome to succeed and fulfill your God-given destiny!

YOU ARE DESTINED TO PROSPER Psalm 128:1-2 (NIV) “Blessed are all who fear the LORD, who walk in obedience to Him. You will eat the fruit of your labour; blessings and prosperity will be yours”, declares the promise of God’s blessings and prosperity to you as a child of God when you walk according to His will. God also gives you the ability to create wealth as you walk in your divine destiny. This is declared in Deut 8:18 (NIV) “But remember the LORD your God, for it is He who gives you the ability to produce wealth, and so confirms His covenant, which He swore to your ancestors, as it is today.” With this, you are assured that you will produce results as you walk in your destiny - the Word of God says so. He delights in the success and prosperity of His servants. Prosperity means to be complete, whole and lacking nothing! It is not only about money you posses but it includes money! It means to prosper in every area of your life. The Apostle John said “I pray above all things that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers”. As a child of God, you are destined to prosper in all aspect of your life, praise the Lord!

WALK IN YOUR DESTINY How do you walk in your destiny? It starts by understanding that you are not governed by the principles of this world, but by the government of the Kingdom of God. Col 3:1-3 (NIV) says, “Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God”

1. Set your heart on things above. You should be passionate about heavenly things or Godly things. Why? Because the only thing that will last are the things of God. Earthly things are temporary, they will fade away and they have no eternal value. Eph 2:6 (NIV) declares, “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.” You and I have been raised with Christ. Together with Christ, we are seated at God’s right hand where all authority resides. Physically we are here, but in position we are with Christ in the heavenly realms. Therefore, we are in a position of authority over our situations. Your passions, motivations and desires come from your heart. Jesus said in Luke 6:45 (NIV) “A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of ”. Therefore, guard your mouth and position your heart on things above! Life comes from what your heart desires. You must guard, guide and grade your affections. 1 Tim 6:9-10 (NIV) says, “Those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a trap and into many foolish and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many grief.” Guard your affections by not falling in love with this world; it is temporal and has no eternal value to offer you. Guard your heart so you are not overwhelmed by your emotions, so that you are still able to continue to function for the purposes of God. Seek the heavenly plans and purpose of God for you – seek your divine destiny. Evaluate or grade carefully your passions in life and make it in line with God’s purpose and plan. Let the Word of God and the leading of the Holy Spirit guide you in everything that you do. 2. Set your mind on things above, not on things below. When your mind is set on things of God, you have the wisdom to change the world, as well as acquire the things of this world. You have the ability to touch heaven and change the earth. 1 Cor 2:16 (NIV) declares, “for, ‘Who has known the mind of the Lord so as to instruct him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.” When you have the mind of Christ, we see possibilities and not impossibilities! We see provisions and not lack of it! We see prosperity and not poverty! We see healing and not sickness! Set your mind on things of God! Struggles and failure were caused by pursuing the earthly things without the mind of God. Even pursuing your career without being mindful of your divine destiny is a disaster. Instead, pursue your God-given destiny and that may include your career. You are to think the way God thinks and not focus on things of this world. Whenever you are faced with life’s challenging situations like defeat, discouragement and depression, divert your attention from things of below to the things of above. When you have enemies — see them as friends, when you are sick — see yourself healed, when you are unemployed — see yourself gainfully employed, when you lack funds — see yourself more than enough. We live by faith and not by sight. In the midst of this, God carries you on eagle’s wings high above your situations and bring you to where He is. The glory of God is not compatible with earthly nature. Therefore, you must put to death your old life of immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires, and greed. You must clean yourself of anger, slander and filthy language. You cannot rise above when you are entangled with the things that hold you. Walk in your destiny and put to death the very thing that keeps you from entering into God’s plan for you!

CONCLUSION It is time to walk in your destiny. You must take authority and not allow the devil to have his way in your life. Walk in your destiny as a child of God. Be a champion! You have the power and authority over your situations because you are seated with Christ. God will see you through your issues, problems and challenges. Today, make the decision to walk in your divine destiny! · EDITED BY ALBERT CALAGUAS

FAMILY LIFE

OVERCOMING THE FEAR OF REJECTION Fear of rejection is one of the most common enemies of our youngsters… Because they are emotionally unstable, rejection can cause them to lose their self-esteem and confidence, which may lead to depression. Teenagers may regard their peer group as important and as influential as their parents that the acceptance and approval of their friends is considered as one of their strongest drives in searching for their unique social identity. They make ways to fit in by adapting their behaviour, physical appearance and mindset, good or bad, based on their peers. While adolescent years may go with an increased independence allowed by parents, the home environment is still important for the behavioural development and choices of our youth. However, this frequently causes conflict between home and peer group that leads to a young individual’s fear of loss in either side. Fear of rejection is one of the most common enemies of our youngsters, making this stage of their lives as critical as any other age. Because they are emotionally unstable, rejection can cause them to lose their self-esteem and confidence which may lead to depression. The Bible provides many motivational and inspirational teachings on how our young generation can overcome this “storm and stress”, and be transformed by the truth. Parents need to constantly encourage them to read and meditate on these scriptures everyday for strength. 1. God has given His children a spirit of power and love, and not fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and wellbalanced mind and discipline and self-control.” 2. God uniquely created His children under His tender care; that the very purpose of every child’s existence is to be conformed to the image of Christ, and not of any earthly peer. Isaiah 46:3-5 says, “You who have been borne by Me from birth and have been carried from the womb; Even to your old age I will be the same, And even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; and I will bear you and I will deliver you. To whom would you liken Me and make Me equal and compare Me, That we would be alike?” 3. Favour with God brings favour with man. Hence, a child’s relationship with God must be his top priority. Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”

4. Forgiveness will bring healing on the wound of rejection. It is not an emotion, it is a decision. 1 Peter 3:8-9 says, “To sum up, all of you be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kind-hearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing.” As a final point, Mark Conner says, “The most powerful evidence that you have been healed of the wound of rejection is that you can love the person who rejected you. This is the most unnatural thing in the world but it can happen through the supernatural power of God’s love. In this way, you become a vessel of God’s love to others who may have been wounded just as you were. John Maxwell puts it this way, “Hurt people hurt people”. Use people’s offence towards you as a means of showing Christ’s love back to them. · BY SUZANNE LEIGH CALPITO

YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS

YOUTH 412 “Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.” – 1 Timothy 4:12

GETTING DRUNK IN THE SPIRIT 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19 speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20 always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. - Ephesians 5:17-20 It was that time of year again, for the annual Champion Life Centre Conference and just like every CLC member, the youth were excited and expectant to receive a lot from the Lord. God had already began working so powerfully in the youth and young adults rally on the Friday night of the conference as Dr. Bill Moore stirred up a passion for the Lord and a calling for the youth to begin setting themselves apart from the crowd to reach their God-given destinies. It eventually came time for the general session on Saturday where all ages, both young and old were expecting to gather and receive from the Lord. In the Saturday session it was evident that the Spirit of the Lord was in the place and in recognition of the open heaven that Dr. Bill began to sense in the Spirit, he opened up the altar for the people to receive prayer and for the Spirit of God to flow. It seemed as though waves of the Holy Spirit moved so powerfully amongst the whole congregation where people began to experience God’s presence. However, as the service came to a close and as everyone began to leave, for some reason, the young people did not seem as eager to leave the Lord’s presence. It was clear that God

was not finished with them yet. The young people still sitting in their chairs were not yet satisfied, eagerly waiting and expecting more. Let’s just say that God did not

Spirit caused them to rise up, despite their young age and enabled them to begin flowing in the Spirit of the Lord. Truly God’s word is coming to pass, as Acts 2:17-18 mentions, “17 In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams. 18 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days, and they will prophesy.” Evidently, God and His Holy Spirit is moving in the lives of the young people and is stirring up a new revival in them. The call to walk not only as “good Christians” or “good young people” but to live life as anointed, empowered, and spirit-filled witnesses and ambassadors of Christ is beginning to take root in each and every one of them. Clearly, this was and is no regular experience but rather, a God-appointed infilling and move of the Spirit that has the power to cause transformation in the way the these young people walk, talk and the way they live their lives, enabling them to reach their friends, peers, world and their God-given destinies for His name. Glory to God for all that He has done, He is doing, and all that He is going to do!

“A wave of laughter began to hit some young people… They were drunk! But they had not been drinking. They were drunk in the Spirit! The young people began to laugh, shout, cry out to God, speak in tongues and prophecy up until past 12am…” disappoint them. Sure enough, after a few minutes, a wave of laughter began to hit some young people and as they rose from their seats to cross-over to the altar, others began to be infected with the manifestation of the Spirit. Some even stared in confusion, wondering what was going on, but for those young people, what others thought of them was their last concern. They were drunk! But they had not been drinking? Yes, that is because they were drunk in the Spirit! The young people began to laugh, shout, cry out to God, speak in tongues and prophecy up until past 12am. A new boldness in the

THERE IS MORE!

In line with the Easter celebration, Champion Life Centre London recognized that it was timely to have an Encounter God retreat. So on April 15-17, 2011, the church conducted the retreat with guest speakers, Pastor Noel Macasaet and Pastor Lynda Macasaet. Beforehand, Pastor Noel emphasized that the retreat is a not an ordinary conference or seminar where you can just sit and learn. It is a personal intimate encounter with God. Just like a battery that’s low which needs to be recharged to gain its optimum function, we, too, as Christians should recharge in order to raise our faith to the next level. Encounter God is an opportunity to assess your spiritual growth and identify the areas you need to work on. It is written in Ephesians 6:12, “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (NIV). We should know what the real battle is so we could prepare and equip ourselves with the right set of armor. Moreover, you will get to realize that it is not about guilt or failure, but it’s about the joy of being forgiven and empowered by our loving God. Furthermore, your eyes will be opened to see fresh revelations from God. It’s like we keep falling in love with God every day. When CLC London thought we just had a magnificent encounter, God interceded and revealed that there is more. The post-encounter day (Sunday) was definitely astounding. While the youth and adults were having an awesome praise and worship service inside the sanctuary, the Holy Spirit was moving in an extraordinary way in a small room where the kids were for Sunday school.

“God even revealed that these kids will minister to their families, schools, neighborhoods, and in the city of London. A boy testified after being filled with the Holy Spirit, “I don’t know what was happening to me, I never felt this way before but it feels amazing!”

Together with Grace, a young adult, and myself, we led the kids in praise and worship service. While we were singing songs of worship, we simultaneously prayed to God and asked the kids to open their hearts to God and from that time on, we felt that something splendid was happening in the room. Children started crying out to God, falling on their knees, lying on the floor, shouting and speaking in tongues. The next thing we know, all of us were praising

God the way we never did before. God taught us the way He wants us to praise Him. He even revealed that these kids will minister to their families, school, neighborhood, and in the city of London. A boy testified after being filled with the Holy Spirit, “I don’t know what is happening to me, I never felt this way before but it feels amazing!” A quiet girl verbalized, “I really feel that Jesus loves me so much.” God once again reminded us that He works beyond our expectations. In whatever generation, from kids, youth to adults, God just demonstrated that He is able and nothing is impossible with Him. Champion Life Centre London incessantly lives through the amazing grace of God. We are excited to encounter more of the wonders God has in store for us.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

3. Shield your eyes and skin. Wear sunglasses and sunscreen to protect your eyes and skin from the sun’s dangerous UV rays. Sunburn abuse can lead to skin cancer. So wear protective clothing and sunscreen with at least SPF15.

4. Cool down to beat the heat. As temperatures rise, your body works overtime to stay cool. Any outdoor activity in high heat is physically stressful and can lead to heat exhaustion or even heat stroke. Wear light, loose fitting clothing and don’t overdo it. A complete nutritional profile that includes vitamin B, Zinc and antioxidants like C, E will boost your immune system and help fight stress.

5.

STAY HEALTHY

DURING

THE SUMMER!

No matter what summertime activity you choose to participate in — some fun and games with family or friends at the park, a refreshing swim, or a backyard barbecue — those hot and humid days can take a toll on you physically. To make sure your warm weather enjoyment doesn’t turn into dehydration, sunburn, heat exhaustion or worse, here are some vacation and summer health tips to keep you safe and healthy while you’re working, playing or vacationing.

1. Drink, drink, drink lots of water. When heat and humidity are high, you can quickly become dehydrated. Your body’s thirst mechanism isn’t very accurate and becomes more unreliable with age. By the time most of us feel thirsty, we’re already slightly dehydrated. It’s especially important during warm weather to drink 8 glasses of water a day.

Take the time to recharge. Sunshine and warm weather offer endless outdoor activities. But don’t push yourself beyond your physical limits or let overexertion squash your energy. Schedule time to rest, relax and take a nap when necessary.

6. Don’t sweat it! Since sweating causes you to lose precious minerals, keep your electrolytes in balance by getting plenty of minerals from fresh fruit, vegetables and health supplements.

7. Easy on the grill. We all love barbecues. However, the chemistry of carcinogens produced by grilling can increase cancer risks. Studies suggest that following grilled meat with antioxidants such as vitamins C, E and carotenoids may offer protection against harmful grilling carcinogens.

2. Munch smartly. Eat healthy. Summer picnics can be a huge temptation to pig out. Don’t fall for it. Too much junk food could destroy your summer fun. Keep your energy up by limiting sweets and fatty foods and focusing on fresh summer fruits and vegetables, whole grains and healthy lean protein.

Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up. If they have sinned, they will be forgiven. 16 Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. ON SUCCESS Deuteronomy 28:11-13 11 The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity—in the fruit of your womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground—in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you. 12 The LORD will open the heavens, the storehouse of his bounty, to send rain on your land in season and to bless all the work of your hands. You will lend to many nations but will borrow from none. 13 The LORD will make you the head, not the tail. If you pay attention to the commands of the LORD your God that I give you this day and carefully follow them, you will always be at the top, never at the bottom. ON SEXUAL SINS 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 8 Now to the unmarried and the widows (and widowers) I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I do. 9 But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry, for it is better to marry than to burn with passion.
