Chapter 1 Introduction 1.1 Function Features “LED Editor”is a set of editing program software, which is specially designed for asynchronous LED display screen. This software obtains powerful functions. It is easy for clients to use and learn.

1.2 Operating Environment  Operating system Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese or English WINDOWS XP,Vista.  Hardware Configuration CPU: Pentium 600MHz or above ROM: 512M Graphics card: Standard VGA 256 mode or above  Related Software Microsoft Media Player--compulsory

Chapter 2 Install and Uninstall 2.1 Install “LED Editor”software can be easily installed, steps as follows: Firstly, put the “LED Editor” installation CD into the CD-ROM, then the Installation Menu will automatically pop up, (If not, please selecting this CD-ROM and double-click it). Secondly, select“LEDEditor_Setup.exe” and install the Installation Guide, as shown in Figure 2-1. Following the instruction on the screen:


Figure 2-1 After install it successfully, there will be a “LED Software” program group in the 【Start】/【Program】,then enter into the “LED Editor” under this program group, single click to start,as shown in Figure 2-2.

Figure 2-2 Also, there will be a “LED Editor” short-cup on your desktop, as shown in Figure 2-3.Users can start the program by double click on the icon too.

2.2 Uninstall “LED Editor” software obtains an auto-uninstall function that users can delete all of“LED Editor” files, program groups and short-cuts conveniently. Users can either select “Delete LED Editor” under


the “LED Editor” group, or go to the 【control panel】, select 【add/delete program】 to undergo quick uninstall. (Uninstall interface as shown in image 2-4), now select “Automatic” can delete all files, program groups and short-cuts.

Chapter 3 Introduction in details 3.1 Program Components Program (Program file) consists of one or more program pages. There are two kinds of program pages. One is normal program page we called it Step , which is the main component of a program. There will be many normal program pages and they will be played in order,

that is, one after another. Another we called it Universal program page usually this program has fixed content, such like clock, company logo and so on.

Program page consists of one or more windows, which will show file, picture, cartoon, flash etc. There are eight kinds of program windows: file window, text window, single line text window, static text window, table window, timer window, date/time window, temperature/humidity window. File window: will play dozens of files, like text, picture, cartoon, video etc Text window: will play simple texts, like notifies, etc Single line text window: will play single line text window, such as notice, advert etc


Static text window: will play static texts, like company name, title etc Table Window: will be used for editing and playing table figures Timer window: will be used for timing, supporting clockwise and anti-clockwise Date/Time window: will show date and time Temperature/Humidity window: will show environmental temperature and humidity

3.2 Homepage of software “LED Editor�software consists of two windows: Play window and control window. (As shown in image 3-1)

Figure 3-1 3.2.1 Play Window Play Window (Namely the contents displayed on the LED screen) will display file, picture, cartoon and flash. This is preview window. 3.2.2 Control window Control window contains Menu bar, Toolbar, Status bar and Edit control. It will control the position, size and contents of the playing area. It can be unfolded to editing window. Control window with editing function as shown in image 3-2 in below: Menu bar: includes five submenus: file, control, Options, test and help. Toolbar: is quick manipulation.


Edit Control: consists two parts, left side will show program name, the right side will show detailed options, such as action, speed and font and so on. Status bar: shows the latest situation of the current operation.

3.3 Functions introduction 3.3.1 Menu It includes five submenus: file, control, options, test and help. File : includes New, Open, Save, Save as, Open Demo File, Open recently used projects and Exit, as shown in image 3-3 in below. New: for setting up a new LED project file for asynchronous editing system. Open: for opening a previously done LED project file. Save: for saving current LED project file.


Save as: for saving current LED project file as a new LED project file. Open Demo project: for opening demo LED project, show the demonstration function. Open recently used project: for opening recently used LED projects. Exit: to exit current LED project.

Play: for playing current LED files. Turn on LED screen power: sending the command to control card then open the LED screen. Turn off LED screen power: sending the command to control card then close the LED screen. Adjust LED screen time: sending the command to control card and making the LED screen time as the same as that of PC. Adjust LED screen brightness: editing the LED screen brightness from 1 to 8ďźŒthen sending the command to control card. Schedule table setup: editing the LED screen time schedule(including turn on/off LED screen power and adjusting LED screen brightness)ďźŒthen sending the command to control card. (Details refer to Schedule Table Setup Chapter) Get LED screen status: sending command to control card and showing the LED screen status.

Options: As shown in image 3-5, it includes software/ hardware setup and user setup. Software setup: for setting size and quantity of LED screen, communication modes etc. (Details refer to Software Setup Chapter) Hardware setup: for setting IP, serial port and grayscale parameters and internet mapping port etc. (Details refer to Hardware Setup Chapter) User setup: for setting user rights. (Details refer to User Setup Chapter)

Test: it contains auto test and stop test, as shown in image 3-6 in below. Auto test: be used for testing grey, grid on the LED screen, for verifying if LED screen is setup correctly. Stop test: stop auto test.

Figure 3-7 3.3.2 Toolbar Users can manipulate fast with the help of Toolbar, as shown in image 3-8, from left to right the icons are: new, open, save, open/close display window, allow/forbid edit, play, current program preview, stop, download program to LED screen and help, functions in details please refer to menu.

3.3.3 Edit control

Edit control is the core of this software, illustration in details please refer to the next section: Programming Flow. 3.3.4 Status bar Left status bar: will show communication type and PC IP address etc. Right status bar: will show edit status, download etc.

3.4 Programming procedures 3.4.1 Step 1: Setup playing window’s size


Set up window size correctly, window size should consistent with LED screen’s width and height (pixels), otherwise, control card would not receive the program or part of data will be lost. How to setup: Menu——>Options——>Software setup, as shown in Figure 3-9 in below. Then input LED screen’s width and height (pixels) in corresponding places.

Program page is the basic element of a program. In image 3-10, it is a program page toolbar. Click ”to open a new program page. (Note: if users cannot find the program page toolbar, please click

on the button “allow edit” on the toolbar above). You can add infinity steps. To delete a program page, please click on the delete button . If users want to change the playing order of each page, please use the moving button 、 . These steps will be played in order, while universal ones will be played continuously without time limit.

Please setup options for program page (step1, step2,step3 and so on), as shown in the image 3-11. Options include name, playing time, background color, picture and music.

Figure 3-11 3.4.4 Step 4: Create new window One step will contains a lot of windows, while each window will play different texts, pictures, tables, cartoons and videos, etc. Totally speaking, there are eight windows available. Click on button and new window, as shown in image 3-12. Now, we are going to introduce these 8 windows.

Figure 3-12 File window: It is the most important window and will play almost all formats of files that we support, moreover, numbers of files are unlimited. The software will support more than ten kinds of formats, including: Document files (TXT), WORD files (RTF), Graphics (BMP/JPG/GIF), video (AVI/MPG/MPEG/WMV/ASF/MOV/FLV/DAT), Flash files (SWF). Text window, Single Line text window, Static Text window: These three windows will display simple texts. For example, you can input company name, greeting words and notifications. Table Window: for editing and playing table.


Timer window: for timing. Date /Time Window: for displaying date and time and supporting analog clock and digital clock. Temperature/Humidity window: for showing environmental temperature and humidity. 3.4.5 Step 5: Setup options for program window Options are all same for all program windows, as shown in image 3-13. Options include Name, Frame and Frame color, Position, Width, Height and Lock. But for different windows, options are also different.

Figure 3-13 File Window: as shown in image 3-14, File window has been divided into two parts. The upper one is the file list; the lower one is the file options. Above the play-list, there is a file toolbar, which can be used to add, delete or move files. The file options in the lower part depend on file formats, we will explain in below.

Text Window: click on “add text” button on toolbar, as shown in image 3-19, then setup Font, Line space, Action, Speed, Stay and background, etc. You can input any words.

Figure 3-19 Single Line text window: as shown in figure 3-20 in below, options include Action, Style, Speed, Stay, Font, background picture and etc. If you choose Text, then please input words in the blank place, if you choose External File, then you can import it. (Only support TXT format file).

3.4.6 Step 6: Finish Programming Please click on bar——>save.

Chapter 4 Display Text There are four methods to play a text program: in a text window; in a single line text window; in a static text window; import text file in file window. Note: 1. To edit a single line moving text, please use single line text window.(Details refer to 4.2) 2. To edit multi-line text or static text, please use static text window.(Details refer to 4.3) 3. To import WORD document, please save *.doc file as *.rtf file, then use file window.(Details refer to 4.4) 4. To import TXT, please use file window.(Details refer to 4.4) 5. In addition to select by drop-down box, you can input any font size by manual.

4.1 Play in Text window


4.1.1 Create a new window

Click on “new window” button

then select “Text window”, as shown in image 4-1.

As shown in image 4-2, the lower part is for editing. After clicking on the “add text” button , a “Text Edit” dialog box will appear as shown in the image 4-3 in below. You can input or copy text in


this edit box. Besides, there are some options for you, such as Background, Font, Action, Speed, and Stay, etc.

Figure 4-4 If you want to modify the texts, just simply selected it and then click on the button . An edit box as shown in image 4-3 will appear and you can edit it. To delete the texts, click on button. To change the playing order, click on buttons. Or you can preview it by clicking on the button .

4.2 Play in Single Line Text window `This window is only for displaying single line sliding captions, such as greeting words, notification, etc. Also, you can add a logo picture before the text, or import a picture as background.


4.2.1 Create a new Single Line Text Window Click on “new window” button then select “Single Line Text window”, as shown in image 4-5 and image 4-6.

Figure 4-6 4.2.2 Setup Single Line Text window As shown in image 4-6, the upper part is for setting up program properties. There are two ways to input texts, one is opening from external documents and another is directly inputting to the edit box.

Open from external documents Select “External file”then click on button up Action, Background, Font and Stay. Input in the edit box

You can adjust words up and down by “Y-offset”, as shown in image 4-11 in below: Image 4-11 You can adjust distance between each word by “Word-space”, as shown in image 4-12 in below: Image 4-11 You can rotate words direction by “Rotate”, especially for long strip sign, as shown in image 413 in below:

4.3 Play in Static Text window This window is for playing static texts. 4.3.1 Create a new Static Text Window

Note: you can also choose Style.


4.4 Play text file in File Window 4.4.1 Create a new File Window

All supported format has been shown in the drop-down box. Select WORD File(*.rtf) or Txt File(*.txt), choose the file that you want then click on “open”button to open it, as shown in image 4-19.

Chapter 5 Display Graphics 5.1 Create a new picture window Click on the “New window” button in below.

5.2 Setup graphics window As shown in image 5-2, the upper part is for setting up program properties. 5.3 Import files Click on the “add file” button (in the lower part of image 5-2) to open file dialog box (as shown in image 5-3), select the formats of picture files in the drop-down list. Then import the file that you want. When selecting a picture, you can preview it in the right-side frame.

5.4 Setup graphics options After adding the graphics, please setup options for it, as shown in image 5-4 in below. Options include background color, action, and effect, etc.

Chapter 6 Display Animation 6.1 Create a new Animation Window

6.2 Setup Animation window As shown in image 6-2, the upper part is for setting up program properties. Name: program’s name Frame: choose frame and color Starting point X: x-coordinate of the starting point Starting point Y: y-coordinate of the starting point Width: setup program’s width


Height: setup program’s height Lock: lock program window to prevent it from moving.

6.3 Import files Attention:Before adding animation files,please setup its size(width and height) save it as(*.lxd). Size of the animation file will be fixed as the same as that of the window after you added it. If you want to modify the size, you need delete it first then re-add it. Click on the “add file” button in image 6-3.

in the lower part (image 6-2) to open file dialog box, as shown

“LED Editor” supports many formats of animation files,media files (AVI/MPEG/ASF/WMV), FLASH files (SWF,Gif), REALPLAYER files (RM), etc. Select any files of the above formats, and then preview it in the right -side frame. After that, lick on “open” button. Now the lower right of the main window will change to what looks like in image 6-4(flash) or image 6-6(video).

GIF Files:The opened file has been added to the list, now there will appear the options, as shown in image 6-4, options include background color, three effects and loop times.


Figure 6-4 Video Files:An import video box will appear as shown in image 6-5 when opening file. If you need to play sound, you must remove the option of “no audio”.

Figure 6-5 Click on import button then the file will be added automatically. As shown in image 6-6, input loop times.

Figure 6-6 SWF Files:After opening swf file, a file window will pop-up,as shown in image 6-7.Click on “start” button. When it finished,it will automatically stop clipping. Or you can click “stop” button to finish it during the process. Then close swf dialog box and then the flash will be added automatically to playing list, as shown in figure 6-8.

6.5 Frequently Asked Questions during adding videos During the process of adding videos,problems will probably appear as follows: Error 1: failed to add the video; Error 2: cannot play the program after sending to LED display; Error 3: too much mosaic or stain in the video; Error 4: video playing speed is too slow or there is frame-skipping. Solutions: Step 1: as shown in image 6-5, press F5, option of adjust video parameter will appear and then tick it in front of the box. Step 2: as shown in image 6-10, adjust video parameter(frame rate and coding rate). Note: frame rate is inversely proportional to video playback speed. Frame rate lower, video playback speed will faster. Coding rate is proportional to video clarity. Coding rate higher, video clarity will better.


Step 3: as shown in image 6-11, select encoded mode.

Figure 6-11 Note: Four encoded modes recommended: Encode1,Encode2,Encode3 and Encode4. Encode 1 and Encode 2 can solve Error 1 and Error 2, if you can not preview video after converting, please install video plug-ins.(video.exe in our CD,as shown in image 6-12.) Encode 3 can solve Error 3,if you can’t see preview effects of video after converting, please sent to LED display screen and then watch the actual effect. Encode 4 can solve Error 4, reducing coding rate and frame rate can improve video playback speed. Increasing frame rate can enhance video coherence. Increasing coding rate can improve the video clarity.

Chapter 7 Timer Display 7.1 Create a new Window Click on “New window” button below.

7.2 Setup Timer window As shown in image 7-2, the upper part is for setting up program properties. Name: program’s name Frame: setup frame and color Starting point X: x-coordinate of the starting point Starting point Y: y-coordinate of the starting point Width: setup program’s width Height: setup program’s height Background: setup background color of the window Lock: lock program window to prevent it from moving.

7.3 Time Setting Please see image 7-3, options include fixed text; font style, size, bold, underline, color, etc; end date/time; display days, hours, minutes, seconds, multi line, no negative sign, etc. In this example, display result in playing window is shown in image 7-4.

7.4 Special display Function 1


When display only one unit, for example, more than 24 hours, only display days; less than 24 hours, only display hours; less than 60 minutes, only display minutes; less than 60 seconds, only display seconds. Steps as follows: Step 1: click and select ending time

Step 2: press F6 in keyboard, an option in dialog box will appear, as shown below:

Step 3: tick the box before only one unit

7.5 Special Display Function 2 When you want to display days, hours, minutes and seconds by multi-line separately or display different fonts and colors, then you have to create multiple timer windows and select “special used by multiple timer windows�. Detail steps are as follows:


Step 1: create multiple timer windows, as shown below:

Step 2: all end time and date in these timer windows should keep consistent with each other.

Step 3: click and select end time control

Step 4: press F5 in keyboard, an option in dialog box will appear, as shown in below:

Step 5: tick the box before special used by multiple countdown windows

Step 6: select the unit that need to display before each box.


Chapter 8 Date and Time 8.1 Create Date/Time Window Click on “New window” button below.

8.3 Setup date and time There are two modes of date/time display, one is analog clock and another is digital clock. You can choose one of them in Display Style (as shown in image 8-2). Analog clock Options for analog clock as shown in image 8-3. Users can setup ahead or behind time difference; static texts and font; color, size, shape, and font of hour and minute mark; Color of the hour, minute and second hand and so on.

Chapter 9 Temperature and Humidity Display 9.1 Create a new Temperature and Humidity Window

then select “Temperature and Humidity window” as shown in

9.2 Setup Temperature and Humidity window As shown in image 9-2, the upper part is for options. 9.3 Setup Temperature and Humidity properties Options for temperature and humidity as shown in image 9-3 in below, which include Static text and font, font size and color; single or multi line display, temperature type and unit, etc.

Chapter 10 Program Page 10.1 Create a new Program Page Click on “New program page”button

and select “Add Step” or “Add Universal Display”, as

10.2 Setup Program Page As shown in image 10-2, the upper part is for setting up properties. Name: name of program page Time(second):Set up how long the program page will last and then play the next one. Waiting for end: After all windows in this step played then play the next one. Button: Program schedule Background: Set up background color Background picture: import background picture


Background music: import background music. If there are videos in program page, it will give priority to sound of video.

10.3 Program Schedule Option for program page Schedule options as shown in image 10-3, which include valid time, date and others.

Chapter 11 Software Setup 11.1 Open software setup Click on “Options” button and select “Software Setup”, as shown in image 11-1. This window contains three sub-menus: LED screen window, Communication parameter and Default parameters.

11.2 LED sign parameter Screen: The number of LED screen. Input number and then click “OK”,while the default number is 1. Width and Height of LED sign: with these two parameters, users can set up the size of preview window.

11.3 Communication parameters There are two types of Communication modes: Single mode and Multi-mode, as shown in image 11-4. Single mode(Recommended):One LED screen for one LED project,(most of them work in single mode ) Multi-mode: several LED screen with same pixels(including Width and Height)for one LED project. When changing single mode to multi-mode, users need to input password “888”.

11.4 Default Parameters Setup basic parameters for programs, it also the default parameters when open various windows, as shown in image 11-3 in below:

Chapter 12 Hardware Setup


12.1 Open hardware setup Make sure that LED sign is online, whatever through network or serial port then click “Options” and select “Hardware Setup” button, as shown in image 12-1. The password is “888”.

When connecting LED sign with computer through RJ45 cable then the network IP will be the LED

sign IP, please see this picture . When LED sign and computer in the same LAN then make sure that IP of the two should be in the same network segment. For example, if computer IP is 192.168.0.xxx then LED sign IP will be 192.168.0.xxx, the two both in “0”segment. If LED sign and computer in different LANs then you need to setup subnet mask and gateway correctly. 12.2.2 Serial port parameters When using COM port communication type, please make sure that Baud rate of LED sign is just the same with that of PC. Its default value is 57600bps. As shown in image 12-2.

12.3 IP Recovery When connecting LED sign with computer through network cable successfully, but the software could not check LED sign IP, moreover, users have forgotten LED sign IP, under this condition, you can select IP Recovery. When you operate this option, please make sure that IP for LED sign and computer in the same network segment or please connect the two things through cable directly. Input IP address that you want, click“Send” button. No tip message will appear. Please check that whether LED sign restarted or not or check the LED screen again after several seconds.

Chapter 13 User Setup


13.1 Open User Setup Click on “Options” and select “User Setup”then pop-up an “Input Password” dialog box(Image 13-1). Input the password “888” and click “OK” button, as shown in Image 13-2.

13.2 Add user Click on “Add User” in image 13-2, a dialog box like image 13-3 will appear. Enter User name and password, then press “OK”.

13.3 Delete User Select an exist user on the list (Image 13-2), (Note: Administrator can not be deleted) then select “delete”. A notice frame will appear, select “Yes”.


13.4 Change Password Select an exist user on the list (Image 13-2), click “change password” button. Enter the new password in the “Change password” dialog box, then press “ok”.

13.5 User Authentication If you tick the box before “Use password at Startup”,as shown in image 13-4, then User Authentication will be required when running LED editor Software next time.

Chapter 15 Communication Control There are two types of Communication modes: Single mode and Multi-mode. Single mode(Recommended): One LED screen for one LED project,(most of them work in single mode ). Multi-mode: several LED screen with same pixels(including Width and Height)for one LED project.


Recommend to use single-screen mode. Click on “Options” button and select “Software Setup”. Then select communication parameter page, as shown in image 15-1.

15.1.2 COM (serial port) Communication Communication type: Select “COM�, as shown in image 15-6. Computer serial port: Select the Com which connects with LED screen. Baud rate: Select baud rate of LED screen serial port, make sure that baud rate of LED screen and computer should be the same.

15.1.3 U-disk Communication As a communication media, U-disk has two kinds of usages, as shown in image 15-7 in below:

Image15-7 Upgrading programs: Firstly, plug u-disk into computer, sending programs to U-disk. Secondly, plug u-disk in controller then copy all programs to the controller automatically. After finished please pull it out. Upgrading storage: When program size is larger than 500Mbytes, you need to upgrade storage of the controller. Firstly, plug the u-disk in computer, sending programs to u-disk, pull it out after finished. Secondly, plug u-disk in controller then LED sign will display all programs automatically, do not pull it out.


15.2 Multi-screen mode Under multi mode, there are four communication types:network, serial port, U-disk, GPRS, as shown in image 15-9.

16.2.3 U-disk Communication As a communication media, U-disk has two usages. One is upgrade program, after finishing, pull out U-disk. Another is as memory. When program size is larger than 500Mbytes, you need to upgrade the storage of controller. U-disk can’t be pulled out, as shown in image 16-9. Note:You can’t send some control commands to LED screen when selecting U-disk communication mode. For example, time, brightness, etc.

Plug U-disk into computer and then click on “send” button . “Select USB-disk” window will pop-up, as shown in image 16-10. Select the mark of U-disk (J :\), click “OK”. After sending program, insert U-disk into LED control card. Upgrade will automatically complete. Pull it out until LED screen displaying normally.

The controller works normal but characters show on display has some small problems, which means there are some led lights comes out around the character without control or there is shadow around the character.

Step1. Right click mouse on desktop and choose Properties

1. Introduction LED screen has been used in many occasions in advertising, traffic and community and so on. However, users have to do a lot of work to update programs due to numerous numbers of LED signs and widely distribution. In order to settle with this problem, Shanghai Xixun Electronic Company has successfully researched and developed a LED display screen control system based on internet communication. As long as users can access to internet and detected control card then they can control programs and achieve off-site control. In this way, users can solve problems of transmitting over long distance and of one PC controls multiple LED screens.

A. Connect PC-1 with router-4 by network cable B. Connect card 1 with router-1 by network cable. C. Make sure that all routers can access to internet. 1.1 Preparations: Hardware: ADSL router (recommended types: TP-LINK, TD-W89541G) LED control card (our company’s M-series control cards) Computers Software: LED Editor Software Router with configuration software LEDset2.0 software

1.2 First of all customer needs to use a laptop to do setup for control cards. Before customers do setup, please make sure that all these cards have been correctly configuration by using LEDset2.0 software. Please refer to Instruction of LEDset2.0 software for configuration.

Step1, please connect laptop with router 1 by network cable. Make sure that the card and router in the same network segment.

Step2, please open Internet Explorer in laptop login.

Step 6. So now configuration of card 1 is finished. Please follow above steps to do configuration for other cards. Step 7. After do configuration of card1, card2 and card3, customer do not need to use this laptop. Then customer need to do setup in PC-1. Step 8. Please open LEDeditor software in PC-1 and then hit on Options in the menu bar-Software SetupCommunication parameters-Multi-consolepassword is 888-Communication is Network, NET is Normal


Step 9. Please click on Internet (multi-console) then a dialoge box will appear. Please hit Add button and then input domain name and make sure the port is 31299. For example: card 1 's domain name is alahover.gicp.net.

Step 10. After adding all domain names of control cards, hit ok. Then back to homepage of lededitor and edit program. After that, click on Send button

Running LED Editor Software, click on “Help”“Auto check LED screen IP”, as shown in image 19-7 in below:

Under stand-alone mode, users can set internet mapping port of C1: 31300 (for example). Chapter 20 Wireless GPRS Solution for LED Display Screen Introduction LED screen has been widely used in various fields, such as advertisement, traffic and etc. However, it is hard for users to connecting control cards with computers due to numerous screens and widely distribution. In order to solve this problem, Xixun Company has successfully researched and developed LED sign control system based on GPRS. As long as users can access to internet and find the control card that connects with GPRS, they can control programs and achieve off-site control. In this way, users can solve problems of transmitting over long distance and of one PC controls multiple LED screens.

Traits

1. Making high efficiency and reliable Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) based on features of GPRS communication so as to adjust packets transfer rates (Mbps) automatically and use GPRS bandwidth effectively, average rates could reach to 15kbps. 2. Supporting Transmission Data Retrieval and Document Resuming. It just transmits the amendment part every time so as to reduce GPRS traffic and save costs for customers. 3. GPRS can transmit simple message, pictures and videos. 4. LED editor Software will process videos and pictures according to screen size then through harmless compression and storage, making a storage cell can perform information as much as possible. System structure as shown in image 20-1 in below:

Chapter 21 RF Solution for LED Display Screen


Introduction RF is a kind of wireless telecommunication technology, now standard IEEE802.11B is much popular. Communication speed between server and terminal can reach to 12Mbps. Based on wireless channel, RF will transmitting data quickly. At present, RF technology has been widely used in many fields including business, industry, transportation, logistical management, medical insurance, finance and teaching and etc. Xixun Company has successfully launched solutions of single mode and multi-mode based on RF technology. System structure as shown in image 21-1 in below:

1.3 RF Introduction We need to avoid data collision among different RF modules as they communicate on the mode of semi duplex communication. Example 1: Under single mode condition, one PC controls one control card connecting with RF. Then sending RF will communicates with receiving RF, at this moment, make sure that there isn’t other control cards working with the same RF module. Example 2: Under multi-mode condition, one PC controls multiple control cards connecting with RF. With configuration ID list, LED editor will communicate with one by one through ID list so as to avoid data collision. 1.4 One PC controls one control card connecting with RF module Configuration steps of Led Editor Software as follows: click “Options” on menu barSoftware SetupCommunication parameters then select “stand-alone mode. Users should have some basic knowledge of communication and network, like relationship between IP and subnet mask, gateway and etc. If it is a wrong IP then LED screen could not display the program, in this case, please check if IP address of PC and control card, or subnet mask are all configured correctly. Click “Start” in PC interface then a dialog box will pop up, as shown in image 22-8 in below:

Chapter 23 Internet Single-Console Solution 1. Traits: Easy to setup control card; Without third-party platform, it will be easy to use and preserve. System structure in below:


Preparations

Hardware: Computer, laptop, two wireless routers and led control card Software: LEDset2.0 software, LED editor software, valid domain name Note: no matter how many control cards you have, only one domain name will be ok. First of all, customer needs to use a laptop to connect with router-2 and control card through network cable. Please check the connection diagram in below:


Step 1, open LEDset2.0 software in laptop and find the control card IP. For example, gateway of router-2 is 192.168.8.1, laptop get IP through auto search and laptop IP is 192.168.8.35. So if customer could not find control card then needs to do restore in LEDset2.0. Click on “

” and Next then input an IP address for control card

Chapter 24 3G router Instructions 3G solution introduction

Customers could send big size files, like video or high quality image through 3G with fast speed.

Hardware:

1. 3G router could insert a SIM card directly or 3G router connects with a 3G card through USB port. 2. Xixun control card M10/M20 or M31 3. 3G SIM card

Software:

1. LED Editor software 2. LEDSet2.0 software 3. Static IP or Domain name

Precondition:

There should be covered by 3G signal. Now WCDMA is very popular all over the world, CDMA2000, EVDO are also used in Korea and USA. Please make sure which 3G signal in the place of LED sign before buying 3G router and SIM card. Whole connection diagram of 3G and control card:


Before you use 3G, you need to apply a valid domain name on website. Such as: www.oray.com / www.dyndns.com/www.3322.org Step 1; please install LED editor software and LEDset2.0 software in computer A and computer B.

Step 2, connects computer A with a general router so that the computer could access to internet. Now

we need to do setup for this router. Please open write down router's default IP and login.

Here, we take 192.168.8.1 for example. After login, please find Port forwarding option then add a new forwarding and make sure that internal and external (private and public) port is 31297. Private IP: this is the computer A's LAN IP. Port: usually customers have internal port and external port (private or public). But make sure these two ports both at 31297.

Step 3, after finishing the port forwarding, customers need to login Domain name. Customers should have a valid domain name. Please find Dynamic DNS option in router, and input your domain name in it.


Another method to login domain name, please download client-side software and then login your domain name. Step4, Now we should to setup computer B with 3G router and control card. First of all, please connect the computer B with 3G router and control card through RJ45 network cable. Please see connection diagram in below:

Step5, turn on 3G router and control card power, and then open LEDset2.0 software in computer B. First thing we need to check gateway of 3G and then make computer B gets IP automatically, so that computer B and 3G will be in one network segment. Then click on and input 20080808 and input new IP for control card. Next customers need to do Configuration for the control card. Please refer to LEDset2.0 software Instructions for configuration.


Here, we take 10.0.0.138 for example, so now default gateway of 3G is 10.0.0.138 and computer B's IP is 10.0.0.112 and restore control car IP into 10.0.0.123. Please see following pictures:


Step6, after finishing all configurations, we need to do Hardware setup in LED editor software. So please open LED editor software and click on Options-Software setup-input LED width pixels and height pixels in the table. Then click on Communication ParametersStand-alone mode---Normal.



Step7, please back to interface and then click on Optionsďƒ Hardware setup--password is 888 Here, customers need to check IP address, Subnet mask, Default, and Server Domain information. IP address: this is control card IP address. Here customers should keep computer B IP, control card IP and 3G router IP in the same network segment. For example, now we have a 3G router default gateway is 10.0.0.138, computer B IP address is 10.0.0.112 and control card IP address is 10.0.0.123. These IP addresses are all in 10.0.0 network segment. Subnet mask: please check and make sure that the subnet mask is a normal one, like 255.255.255.0 Default: this is default gateway. The default gateway of 3G router, it is 10.0.0.138. Server domain: Please write down that valid domain name. After this, please click on Send button and a tip message will pop out.


Then back to interface and click on Options-Software setupcommunication parametersMulti-modeNetwork3G-Internet (single console)--OK, password is 888.


Now all works have been done, but we need to verify if all parameters are correct. Verify steps Step 1; make sure that computer B could access to internet through 3G router and can find control card IP through LEDset2.0 software.

Step 2, click on Start in computer B and then click on Run option, we need to ping domain name on this computer successfully then we will get an IP address, here we named its IP address 1, please see picture in below:

Step3, Please login router in computer A then checks WAN state in homepage, you will see WAN IP and we named this IP address 2. Here we take for 192.168.8.1 example, please see the picture:


Step4, we should make sure that IP address 1 and 2 are the same. This means that computer A could communicate with 3G and control card. After we finished verification, please stop connection between computer B and 3G router. We need to use LED editor software in computer A to edit and send program, as show in below:

NOTE 1. If customers still could not send program successfully even verification correctly. Please connect our company we have computer and 3G router to help customers to do further verification. 2. When 3G router access to internet, the RUN/ALAM lights in controller will blinking. 3. 3G solution can be used together with Internet single-console solution. There is only one difference that internet single-console solution will use normal router instead with 3G router.

Chapter 26 WIFI Solution Preparations

Hardware: Computer has a built-in WLAN card, wireless router, control card Software: Led editor software, LEDset2.0 software Connection diagram:


Conditions:

Please make sure that computer and led sign should in one local area network. Stpe1, please connect control card with wireless router through network cable. Step2, please detecting wireless router on computer and make computer get IP through automatically. For example, gateway of wireless router is 192.168.8.1. Auto IP of computer is 192.168.8.35. Step3, please open LEDset2.0 software and find control card IP. If you could not detect control card IP, then you need to Restore control card IP address through LEDset2.0 software. Click on and then Next, then input the 20080808 and make control card IP like 192.168.8.11. Pay attention that control card IP and computer IP should be in the same network segment.


Then click on Restore button.

Step4, please click on to do configuration for the control card. Please refer to Instructions of LEDset2.0 software in details. Step5, after finished step4, please open LED editor software in computer. Click on Help in Menu bar-Auto check led sign IP

Step6, click on Options in Menu barsoftware setup-LED sign window, please input right pixels. Then Communication parametersStand-alone mode-OK


Step7, please make program and send it.


Chapter 27 Instructions of RS 485 Solution for LED control system With this new solution, one console will control multi-control cards in the same time and will not create any data flow fees. This solution is mainly applied in subway, bank and factory projects.

1. Traits:

1.1 Theoretically valid distance of RS485 modem could reach to 1200-3000 meters with the help of a kind of repeater. But without this repeater, we recommend customers make the distance range at between 300-800 meters.

1.2 Theoretically one RS485 console-modem could bring 32, 64, 128 or 256 control cards but it will also depends on the communicate chips of control cards and 485 modems. We recommend that one console-RS485 modem brings 80 control cards.

2. Preparation Hardware: computer

Serial port cable 232/485 modem Xixun control card (M-series, W-series) Twisted pair Software: LED editor software, LED set2.0 software.

3. Connection diagramďźš


NOTE: Connect computer with 232/485 modem directly, because the com port in computer is male port while 232/485 is female port. Customer could also connect 232/485 modem with computer via straight-through serial port cable, as shown in below:

The red and black lines among 232/485 modems are should be twisted pair. Customers prepare these lines by themselves. Computer serial port like this in below:

Now there are three cards, we can connect more cards in this way.

4. Configuration steps Step1, do setup for all cards by using LEDset2.0


Take control card 1 for example, connect card 1 with computer through network cable. Then open LEDset2.0 software and detect control card IP.

Please click “Start Intelligent setup Wizard” then follow the step1, step2, step3 …… to finish this wizard and you will get a HCP file. Please save this file in your computer. Please read Instruction of LEDset2.0 software for detail.

Step2, open LED editor software to set hardware parameters

Please open LED editor software then click on Optionssoftware setupLED sign window, here input the width and height pixels of led display.


Then click on Communication parametersstand alone modeNormalOK

Back to software main interface then click on OptionsHardware setuppassword: 888


Please choose COM_TTL and set the baud rate at 9600. Then click on Send button. Here, please pay attention to ID config (485 serial or RF), please set an ID number for card1. The software will have a default ID; customer could also set by themselves. After set ID, please press Send button. Step3, then back to Main interface and click on Optionssoftware setupcommunication parametersmulti-mode, as shown in below: password is 888.


Communication: com (485/RF) 485/RF: choose 485 Serial: it is computer’s com port, choose right one Baud rate: choose 9600, same with that of control card. Then click on Config ID list, as shown in below:

Click on Add button and enter the ID of the control card then press OK button.

Step 4, back to Main interface, make program and click on Send button window will come out, as shown in below:
