The GS1 UK Healthcare Conference returns
The GS1 UK Healthcare Conference is back. Taking place at the iconic QEII Centre in Westminster, London, from 29th-30th April 2025, this seventh instalment of the conference is set to deliver unparalleled strategic insights, policy updates and best practice case studies that will shape the future of healthcare.
As the healthcare landscape continues to evolve, the conference will focus on the critical role of GS1 standards in driving improvements across the sector. Participants will benefit from more than 10 hours of thought-provoking content, 16 hours of networking and exhibition time, and contributions from 50+ expert speakers across 40+ sessions.
This year’s programme is designed to address the pressing need for enhanced traceability, transparency of product data, and improved patient safety – all key foundations of the transformative Scan4Safety initiative. This emphasis on Scan4Safety extends across the key themes of the conference, which are centred around the ‘4Ps’ – person, product, place, and process.
Keynote sessions and panel discussions will place a spotlight on national programmes such as the NHS Supply Chain inventory management system and point of care scanning rollout, updates on the implementation of Scan4Safety across all four UK nations, the implications of forthcoming UK medical device regulations, and much more. Breakout sessions will delve deeper into each of these topics and explore first-hand case studies of Scan4Safety in action.
Attendees can expect to hear from a prestigious lineup of speakers, including David Lawson, Medical technology and innovation director, Department of Health and Social Care; Professor Sir Terence Stephenson, chair of NHS Providers and president of GS1 UK; and Dr Nnenna Osuji, chief executive officer of North Middlesex University Hospital
NHS Trust.
These highly regarded thought leaders, among others, will share their expertise on topics ranging from building data infrastructures for medical technology, the future of medication safety, medical device sustainability, the importance of interoperable electronic patient record systems and unique patient identification.
The GS1 UK Healthcare Conference 2025 holds particular significance as it marks the first conference following the government’s barcode scanning mandate for NHS England, the first Scan4Safety sites going live in Scotland and Wales, and Northern Ireland’s progress towards its national asset management programme.
Join 400+ industry leaders, healthcare innovators, policy experts and colleagues at the GS1 UK Healthcare Conference 2025 and be part of the conversation driving safer, smarter, connected healthcare.
