Expertise of local craftsmen from particular districts becomes the strength of product in Nusantara to be reckoned by the world. More than just a product created by handy craftsmen, our product bears profound cultural and historical contents to as a medium to tell the birth of tradition in their origins. Products of PALA, like watch, are a unique combination of 20% modern process utilizing CNC (Computer Numerical Control) to guarantee its precision and 80% manual craftsmanship by our best craftsmen who are experienced in wood and leather processing for more than 5 years. We would like to maintain the dominating portion of craftsmanship in order to maintain the mutual relationship between the craftsman and the nature. Furthermore, we can also assure that every PALA watch is only made of selected local materials from Indonesia.

Inspired by the distinct colors of particular regions of Nusantara. Colors in cultures of Nusantara symbolize various things, from cosmology to social ranks. In Minang, for instance, three main colors are called “Marawa�, in which each symbolizes a certain region. In Balinese traditional custom, colors can be associated with a certain caste in society. Thus, Pala intends to present these diversity and cultural treasure, in hopes that they will become a local identity that draws global attention. Through these articles, Pusaka Varna represents three regions in Nusantara, namely Java, Toraja, and Badui, symbolized in Cokelat (brown), Merah (red), and Biru (Blue); for the reason that Java is famous for its Sogan Batik that is dominated by brown color, Toraja has a positive meaning for red color, which is as the symbol of life, and Badui people wears indigo as a custom in their daily life.

Based on folklores and traditions in Nusantara that often use images of animals as their symbols, Pusaka Sattva is a product representing that. In Nusantara’s literatures and arts, we can acknowledge that a mouse deer symbolizes ingenuity, adopted by the ancestors from an Indian fable, Panchatantra or Liong, embodied in a form lion as a protector from dangers. In fact, up until now, Chinese descendants in Nusantara still believe it. Animals as living beings have been a significant part of symbols of identity in Nusantara. Pala adopted this symbolization custom through high quality watches with minimalistic design, crafted by professional craftsmen and designers. As the first series we present Ayam Cemani, Arwana and Anoa that have been used as symbols in regions of Nusantara as our main inspiration. Those three symbolize elegance, uniqueness, and rarity.
