GREG WILLIAMS Greg Williams is best known for his high-profile photographic work with major film studios, magazines, brands and celebrities. Greg’s work includes on set and poster campaigns for Skyfall, Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, the Bourne films, Robin Hood and King Kong. He regularly works with Vogue, Italia, GQ and Esquire magazines and with actors such as Russell Crowe, Robert De Niro, Sean Penn, Rachel Weisz and Megan Fox. Greg began as a photojournalist; however, his great love of film led him to shoot specials on more than 150 movie sets where he further honed his craft from many award-winning cinematographers. Greg has since strived to create photos to look like moments from movies, using lighting crew from film sets and directing his subjects to perform rather than just pose. Greg’s natural segue into the world of film and commercials has produced work for Agent Provocateur, Dunhill, Dax, Timberland, Bentley and Vertu as well as two short films; Sgt Slaughter, My Big Brother and Tell-Tale. Greg is currently working on the script for his first feature film.

IAN DERRY My passion for photography started when I was at school. My father gave me an old rangefinder camera and I was instantly hooked. I started work experience on the local newspaper in Portsmouth and was lucky enough to end up with a staff job after a few months. You quickly outgrow your surroundings when you’re young, so after a few years I made the move to London. It was the only place to be really, so an obvious step forward. I freelanced for most newspapers, from The Sun to The Sunday Times, covering news and sports events. I was then offered a staff job on the Daily Mirror where initially I continued shooting news and sport but eventually moved into the studio.

I taught myself how to light portraits and fashion shoots and gradually created a position for myself where I was the celebrity and fashion staff photographer. Once again I felt a move was needed and to leave newspapers for magazines. In January 2000, I left the Mirror to go freelance. Since then I’ve had some amazing assignments and photographed some incredible people. I’ve been lucky enough to travel to Cape Town, Bahamas, New York, Los Angeles and so on to photograph some of the world’s most famous people. My work now is very diverse and I have also added sport and underwater into the mix. I shoot for magazines, film companies and now advertising clients. Recently, I have shot for Johnnie Walker, Chivas, Reebok and Speedo.

E L L I S PA R R I N D E R Ellis Parrinder has been photographing some of the world’s most recognised subjects for more than two decades.

Along with shooting at the BAFTA Film and Television Awards, Ellis also captured some of the country’s newest talent at the BAFTA New British Talent photo shoot.

Ellis started his career in the music scene, photographing bands and artists. In this time, he captured iconic images of Morrissey, Coldplay, Grace Jones and Beth Ditto naked, for which he won Magazine Week’s coveted Cover of the Year Award. Since then, Ellis’ subjects have evolved, and he has created a distinct style and approach to photographing actors – both working and not. For many years, Ellis was commissioned by the Old Vic, where he photographed the likes of ex-Artistic Director and actor, Kevin Spacey, Jeff Goldblum, Rosamund Pike and Richard Dreyfuss.

His most iconic portraits from the BAFTA Film Awards are of Meryl Streep, Sharon Stone and the Leading Actor and Actress winners Mickey Rourke and Kate Winslet. Speaking of the BAFTA experience, Ellis says: “Working with BAFTA was, and remains, an absolute career highlight for me. When your first subject is Goldie Hawn, and you finish photographing Kate Winslet and her parents, it’s not something you forget quickly.” Since BAFTA, Ellis continues to be commissioned by the UK’s leading magazines and publishers.

Ellis’ distinct creative style and calm demeanour led to him being commissioned by BAFTA as their photographer in residence in 2009.

PHIL FISK Phil is a photographer of people but is obsessed with much more than a person’s face. His compositions include the built and natural environment of the sitter and he often attempts to combine these to surreal effect. He graduated from Goldsmiths College in 1993 with a degree in Sociology and although an accomplished commercial photographer he is devoted to furthering his understanding and exploring other facets of the photographic arts and filmmaking. Phil’s portrait work includes artists, poets, actors, directors, comedians, sports stars, scientists and politicians. He has been commissioned by BAFTA to photograph the nominees for both the Television and Film Awards. He is a regular contributor to the Observer magazine and The Saturday Times Magazine with one-off commissions for other magazines

including Wired (Condé Nast), much of this work being syndicated worldwide. Poster advertising and PR campaigns include Boots, Majestic, The National Theatre, Channel 4, BBC, SKY1, SKY1Arts, UKTV, The London Dungeons, AstraZenica, Berinert, Seroquel, Carcinoid, Summacta and Racing for Change. His solo photography exhibitions include ‘Everyday People’ held as part of the ‘CircusFest’ at the Roundhouse, Camden, and at Stratford Circus, London; his latest project ‘Sex On the Radio (Sound Project)’ was featured in the national press and included in the World Sony Awards long list. The Alan Project was included in the 2012 AOP Awards. Never one to sit still for long, Phil has ventured into filmmaking and has started a project on the much neglected subject of British roundabouts. Banksy 2011

R I C H HA R D C A S T L E With a First Class Honours degree in Photography and a Masters in Fine Art Photography from Edinburgh College of Art, Rich Hardcastle has more than 25 years’ experience as a commercial photographer. His previous projects with the likes of Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, where he was commissioned to document the making of the award winning show Extras, brought him industrywide acclaim. The resultant images were released in a book titled The Illustrated Scripts. Hardcastle travelled the world as ‘special photographer’ in the hit TV series An Idiot Abroad, which was also published in book form. There are several works by Hardcastle in the prestigious permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery.

Hardcastle’s highly-detailed portraiture combines an intelligent and acutely-observed visual humour, frequently imbued with a quiet pathos. His striking, highly original aesthetic has attracted industrywide acclaim and has led to commissions from publications including Rolling Stone, Esquire and Harper’s Bazaar and two exhibitions, Dark Tales and his latest, Mr Detective Man, featuring model, David Gandy, both staged at Mead Carney, Mayfair, London. He says, of his BAFTA experience: “Shooting backstage at the BAFTAs is my favourite job of the year. It combines the two things I love shooting the most, reportage and actors, in one lovely three-hour package.”

SARAH DUNN British-born Sarah Dunn received her first camera on her eighth birthday and has never looked back. Her professional career launched in 1998 after a helping hand from Ewan McGregor and Cate Blanchett, both of whom contributed to Sarah’s first professional portfolio. Sarah’s love of cinema has always been the driving force behind her work, making the BAFTA

collaboration a unique, insightful and very fulfilling project. When Sarah was selected to photograph entrepreneurs by the National Portrait Gallery in London, it began a long-running relationship.
