WHERE LUXURY MEETS ECOLOGY AND CULTURAL AND CULINARY STORIES ARE TOLD
When Badderam development applicants and landowners Heidi Meyer and husband Kim Carroll returned to live on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast in 2013 after years of travelling and living abroad, they were mesmerised once more by the coastal region’s scenic beauty and vast array of natural assets. They were surprised to discover, however, that in such a thriving and tourism-rich region, there were so few 5-Star luxury resorts with international-standard facilities they could enjoy.
As owners of a large, tightly-held and very rare land parcel on Buderim, Heidi and Kim dreamed of telling Buderim's cultural and culinary stories. They decided they would like to leave a legacy for Buderim and the Sunshine Coast as they set their sights on building an internationally-branded luxury resort on their land. But this was no small vision.
A pair of epicurean conservationists, they insisted the proposed resort would be highly innovative, zero waste, integrate the latest sustainable technologies, lead the world in its ecological standards, and completely redefine luxury tourism.
An expert team was assembled and the Badderam vision was created. This vision has achieved remarkable levels of community and council support and is now a DA approved construction ready project.
Such is the local excitement for the Badderam development that multiple adjoining land sites have been offered to Heidi and Kim for purchase, with some containing existing residence and villa approvals.
