s an only child my parents wanted me to have the advantage of growing up in an environment mindful of nature. My dad was a New York State Trooper but a true farmer at heart. He passed on to me his love for animals and his appreciation for nature and all its flora and fauna. I grew up on an Apple Farm in Upstate New York. It’s there that I really developed a passion for plants, both edible and ornamental.

After graduating from UNCW with a degree in Biology I went back to School at Cape Fear Community College and obtained a degree in Landscape Gardening. After working for a local landscape architect for a few years he encouraged me to go into business for myself. Natural Landscapes was born, focusing on landscape design and installation. Several years later, after working side by side with my husband, he and a few colleagues urged me to offer my container garden services to our customers. Over the years our unique perspective on container arranging has caused a buzz both at the annual Azalea Festival and with local businesses and residences. But, we decided to go one step further. Not only will we put together an extraordinary planter for you, we will maintain it on a weekly basis. This will be Port City Pot & Planter’s first year offering not only planting, but watering, fertilizing, and maintenance of pots and planters. We take care of everything! We are very excited and would love to take the guess work out of container gardening for you. Please let us know if we can be of assistance with any of your container gardening or landscape needs.
