HITTING A GREAT CHIP SHOT

1: THE SETUP Place the golf club level on its sole with the club face square to the target. Measuring a foot and a half behind the ball, stand with your feet near one another. Turn your entire body (feet, hips and shoulders) somewhat to the left of the target. This is called an open stance and makes the motion less demanding - even on short swings. STEP 2: PREPARE TO CHIP Incline your abdominal area forward from your hip, keep your legs somewhat bowed and put your weight on your left foot.

Rest the club shaft on your left thigh and keep your usual grip on the club. STEP 3: CHIP THE BALL Verify the weight stays on your left foot all through the swing to send the golf ball into the air.
