Week # 9 Southmoore vs Moore @ Moore Stadium

Southmoore impresses OU Southmoore Destroys Moore 58-15 to win “City Championshp.”

MOORE —

As Moore and Westmoore students sat together in hopes of an upset, the roaring of the West-Moore students section ended quickly. The SaberCats first of many touchdowns was a 50 yard bomb from Kendal Thompson to Austin Haywood. Haywood went on to score 5 TD‟s, 1 passing, 1 rushing, and 3 receiving. In attendance were 5 OU coaches including Head Coach Bob Stoops. The defense was stingy all night only allowing 2 TD‟s (the last one coming late in the game). George Mallett led all tacklers with 11, followed by his fellow linebacker teammate Ryan Long with 10. Nyko Symonds had one interception and LaBron Brown and Austin Brooks each recovered a fumble. After the game Moore Athletic Director Carl Franks presented the “City Championship” Trophy to the Southmoore players and coaches. The trophy will remain at Southmoore until another team can dethrone them from Moore. The Southmoore football team beat Moore and Westmoore with a combined score of 92 –15. So its safe to say the trophy may be at Southmoore for a long time.
