HIGHLIGHT EXHIBITION
พีเพิลถึงพีเพิล นิทรรศการแสดงผลงานเพื่อจัดหารายได สนับสนุนกิจกรรมของหอศิลปกรุงเทพฯ ป 2564 15 มิถุนายน - 29 สิงหาคม 2564 หองนิทรรศการหลัก ชั้น 9 People to People จัดแสดงผลงานศิลปะรวมสมัย จาก 58 ศิลปนในโครงการ People’s Gallery ชวนคุณรวมเปนเจาของผลงานเพือ ่ หารายไดสนับสนุนการจัดกิจกรรมของหอศิลปกรุงเทพฯ ตลอดป 2564 การระดมทุนครัง้ นี้ เพือ ่ ใหผชู มมีโอกาสเลือกครอบครองผลงานศิลปะรวมสมัยหลากหลายรูปแบบ ทัง้ ภาพวาด ประติมากรรม สือ ่ ผสม ฯลฯ จากเหลาศิลปนซึง่ เคยปรากฎตัวตนบนเสนทางศิลปะผานเวที People’s Gallery นิทรรศการนี้จึงถือเปนความรวมมือระหวางภาคประชาชนและหอศิลปกรุงเทพฯ ไดมีสวนรวม ในการขับเคลือ ่ นวงการศิลปะของไทย โดยการนำผลงานศิลปะมารวมระดมทุนจัดหารายไดเพือ ่ ใชจด ั กิจกรรม ของหอศิลปกรุงเทพฯ ใหดำเนินตอไป
People to People A part of BACC Fundraising Project 2021 15 June - 29 August 2021 Main Gallery, 9th Floor People to People exhibits artworks by 58 People’s Gallery artists and we invite you to take part in becoming the owner of the artworks to provide funding for BACC’s activities throughout 2021. “People to People” is organised to allow the audience to choose and acquire different types of contemporary artworks including paintings, sculptures and mixed media artworks from artists who once paved their careers in art at the People’s Gallery. Thus; this exhibition is a collaborative effort to drive Thai art industry forward with artists as people, and the BACC as the ‘People’s Art Centre’.

นิทรรศการ ดำรง วงศอุปราช : ทัศนศิลปแหงชีวิต มอนวิค และหอศิลปวัฒนธรรมแหงกรุงเทพมหานคร 20 เมษายน - 3 ตุลาคม 2564 หองนิทรรศการหลัก ชั้น 8 นิทรรศการครัง้ นีจ้ ด ั แสดงผลงานของผูช ว ยศาสตราจารยดำรง วงศอป ุ ราช ศิลปนแหงชาติสาขาทัศนศิลป (จิตรกรรม) ประจำปพท ุ ธศักราช 2542 ศิลปนผูม ค ี วามสามารถอันรอบดาน และเปนผูม บ ี ทบาทขับเคลือ ่ น วงการศิลปะของประเทศไทย ทัง้ ในฐานะศิลปน อาจารย นักเขียน นักวิชาการดานศิลปะ ภัณฑารักษ ผูบ ริหาร จัดการหอศิลป และนักอนุรก ั ษศล ิ ปะ ภายในนิทรรศการจัดแสดงผลงานจิตรกรรมและภาพพิมพ จำนวน 70 ชิ้น ตัวอยางบทความทางวิชาการ และวิดีโอสัมภาษณบุคคลใกลชิดกับอาจารยดำรง ในบทบาท และชวงเวลาที่แตกตางกัน
Damrong WONG-UPARAJ : A Retrospective of Versatility and Discipline MoNWIC and Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre 20 April - 3 October 2021 Main Gallery, 8th Floor The exhibition celebrates the legacy of Assist. Prof. Damrong Wong-Uparaj, Thailand’s 1999 National Artist in Visual Arts. An artist, lecturer, writer, scholar, curator, gallery manager, and conservationist, Damrong was an important force in propelling the Thai art scene. The collection comprises 70 prints and paintings, academic article excerpts, and video interviews of people close to him at different times in his life.

นิทรรศการศิลปกรรมชางเผือก ครั้งที่ 10 หัวขอ “ในฝน” แสดงแนวความคิดเกี่ยวกับจินตนาการและ ความใฝฝนอันดีงามทั้งในเชิงเศรษฐกิจ สังคม ศีลธรรม และวิถีชีวิตความเปนอยูของผูคนในแตละพื้นถิ่น อีกทั้งยังเปดโอกาสใหศิลปนผูสรางสรรคผลงานตีความ “ความฝน” ทั้งในแงมุมที่เปนนามธรรมและ รูปธรรม กลาวคือ ความฝนทีส ่ ามารถเปนจริงได และความฝนทีเ่ ปนจินตนาการอันสวยงามของแตละบุคคล นอกจากนัน ้ ยังหมายรวมถึง ความรักความผูกพัน ความปรารถนา ปณิธาน ความฝนอันสูงสุด ความดีงาม ทีอ ่ ยากสรรคสรางใหเกิดขึน ้ จริง หรือการหวนรำลึกถึงความทรงจำอันมีคณ ุ คาทีจ่ ารึกไวในฝนของตนเอง ผานการนำเสนอผลงานรูปแบบจิตรกรรม ประติมากรรม ภาพพิมพ และสือ ่ ผสม ไมจำกัดเทคนิคและวัสดุ ทั้งในรูปแบบรูปธรรม (Realistic) หรือ ศิลปะรูปลักษณ (Figurative art)

The 10th White Elephant Art Award Exhibition “Dreams” Thai Beverage Public Company Limited and Bangkok Art and Culture Centre Main Gallery, 7th Floor
This year’s White Elephant Art Award explores the theme of dreams, which involves not only a series of thoughts while sleeping but also fantasies and imagination, as well as economic, social, moral, and local aspirations. Artists may interpret the word “dream” abstractly as a personal state of mind, or concretely as a goal that can be realized. Dreams may also encompass love and attachment, a desire, a vision, an ultimate goal, an optimistic aspiration for the future, or a reminiscence of a treasured past. All techniques, materials, and visual art forms – painting, sculpture, print, and mixed – as well as both realistic and figurative arts are included.

นิทรรศการจัดแสดง ผลงาน 2 ศิลปน ทีน ่ ำวัสดุทเ่ี ปนสัจจะของ ธรรมชาติรอบตัวมาสรางสรรคผลงาน รวมถึงการแสดงออก ถึงความงามที่ไดกลั่นกรองออกมาเปนงาน ศิลปะในรูปแบบ เฉพาะตัวของแตละศิลปน ในลักษณะความงามแบบนามธรรม
The exhibition presents the works of 2 artists that bring in natural materials in combination with their unique techniques to create abstract beauty.

ผลงานชุดนี้อางอิงถึงการใชวัตถุสำเร็จรูป และการนำวัตถุ กลับมาใชใหม นำมาจัดการและเปลี่ยนแปลงความหมายโดย การหุม ผาดวยรสนิยมตาง ๆ ของผูห ญิงสวมทับเครือ ่ งมือชาง ประเด็นทางเพศสภาพ ฝมอ ื ชาง ความถนัดดานเพศวิถี ความ ละเอียดออนในการเลือกใชวัสดุ นำเสนหอันนุมนวล สวยงาม ยัว่ ยวน บุคลิกตาง ๆ ของเพศหญิง เขามาแทนทีจ่ นกลายเปน วัตถุที่มีความงดงาม และการแสดงออกถึงความเปนหญิง
This series of works refer to the use of ready-made objects and reusing objects. It is used to manipulate and change the meaning by covering fabrics with various tastes of women to wear over hand tools. Gender issues, skills craftsmanship sexuality, subtlety in material selection, bring soft charm, seductive beautiful. Female personalities replaced until it becomes an object of beauty and expressions of femininity.

ผลงานจัดวางสื่อผสมที่นำเศษประทัดจากพิธีกรรมแกบนใน ชุมชนแหงหนึ่งมาเปนวัสดุหลักในการสรางสรรค เศษประทัด จำนวนมากถูกนำมาอัดเปนแทงคลายกอนอิฐขนาดใหญ นำมา กอเรียงเปนกำแพงปดกัน ้ ในพืน ้ ทีส ่ าธารณะ เพือ ่ ใหสถานะของ กำแพงทีถ ่ ก ู สรางขึน ้ นีไ้ ดทำหนาทีอ ่ ป ุ มาเชนเดียวกับกำแพงของ ปอมปราการที่แข็งแรง แตในขณะเดียวกันกำแพงนี้ก็เปนสิ่ง กำหนดขอบเขตและกีดกันเราจากพืน ้ ทีอ ่ ก ี ดานหนึง่ ดวยเชนกัน
“Substance of Hope” project is a mixed media installation that is created from wastes from firecrackers that are used in votive offerings in a community. The waste firecrackers are compressed in to a large brick and are built in to a wall in a public space, which this wall give a comparison to a strong fortress but in the same time, it is also a barrier that separates us from the other side.

นิทรรศการที่ไดรับแรงบันดาลใจจากการหอหุมวัตถุและวัสดุ ยางรถยนต มาผสมผสานเขาดวยกัน เพื่อสรางความหมาย ในงานประติมากรรม การรับรูที่แปลกใหม เปรียบเสมือนการ กระตุนความรูสึกนึกคิดและความทรงจำของผูคนที่เคยชินกับ รูปแบบเดิม อาทิ การเปลีย ่ นวัสดุ การเปลีย ่ นพืน ้ ผิวทางกายภาพ การเปลี่ยนคุณสมบัติ ซึ่งในการเปลี่ยนนั้นสามารถสรางการ ตีความใหมทง้ ั ในแงบวกและแงลบทีแ่ ตกตางกันไปตามประสบการณ ของผูชม
Inspired by the covering of objects. And car tires material let's blend together to create meaning in sculpture. Exotic perception is like stimulating the feelings, thoughts and memories of people who have been accustomed to the original pattern. Such as changing materials, physical surface replacement, changing properties that change can create new interpretations both positive and negative that differ according to the viewer experience.
SPECIAL PROJECT The BACC presents the first volume of the journal that houses a general survey of Thailand’s current art and culture landscape during 2010-2020, grasping at diversity within subject matters. The debut journal includes a variety of research, personal and critical essays from Thai writers of multiple backgrounds. In order to represent the BACC and its institutional practice, the assembled texts are in parallel with the centre’s outreach; beyond the visual arts, the art centre is also an important home for performance art, literature, cinema, music, and educational activities, and serves as a public space for self-expression. This journal will therefore act as an essential platform for archiving English-language writing material that reflects past and current Thai art and culture.
