Lots and lots of support. My mom and my nanny are indispensable. I would not be able to work full time without them both. You cannot do both alone.

What was your first thought when you learned you were pregnant?

even just going to the grocery store and FaceTiming with friends. It was really important to develop some semblance of a routine as everything around me was completely new and incredibly scary.

I was in total shock and also very grateful! My older brother and I are both IVF babies and my mom had an incredibly tough journey to pregnancy. I’d always thought I would have a similar struggle.

What is your greatest joy of motherhood?

What do you think is one aspect of motherhood no one really warns you about?

The isolation can be really tough, especially toward the end of pregnancy and in the first few weeks back home. I really had to push myself to do normal things,

My strangest moment of joy was the first night Teddy and I went out to dinner after Henry was born. We were just sitting in a cab and we started scrolling through photos of Henry. We’d been so wrapped up in normal newborn craziness that I don’t think we’d taken a minute to just let it sink in. It was a crazy moment to think, “Wow, we created this, and he’s this tiny little perfect human!” A totally insane out of body experience.
