Hello, NACE | CARS Attendees and Exhibitors:

O

n behalf of the Automotive Service Association (ASA) and its board of directors, I would like to cordially welcome you to Detroit and NACE | CARS. We are extremely excited about the many changes we’ve made to this year’s program. It was our goal to redefine our show and the trade show experience. Hopefully, you will enjoy the 20,000 square feet of live demonstrations including welding, spraying and scan tool diagnostics on running vehicles. We believe this is the first trade show in the United States to offer all of these demonstrations on the show floor. In addition to the live demonstrations, we’ve expanded the training offered, added tours, enhanced the Collision Repair Executive Symposium and added a Technology and Telematics Forum on Friday. Lastly, we wanted to reward those shops and individuals who have made investments in training. For the first time in the show’s 30-year history, any shop or individual with any of Sincerely,

Dan Risley ASA President and Executive Director

the following credentials – I-CAR Gold or Platinum, ASE Blue Seal or Master Technician – received a 50 percent discount during registration, prior to the show. We recognize and appreciate the time, money and resources you spend to attend and support NACE | CARS as well as other industry events. In recognition of that, we made a concerted effort to bring the industry together. As a result of those efforts, we are proud to acknowledge and thank several of the many industry groups hosting co-located meetings or events: I-CAR, CREF, CIC, CCIF, MERA, ALCOA, NABC, AMI, ETI and the OE Roundtable. NACE | CARS is a show for our industry, about our industry. There is no other show in the country solely dedicated to the needs of the collision and service repair industry. We are grateful for your support and hope the many changes we’ve made meet your needs and expectations of a world-class trade show.

Where New Hires Succeed Speakers: Bill Haas, president, Haas Performance Consulting Session Description: Ever feel like you have a revolving door for employees? Do you fear hiring new employees because, at least with your current staff, you know what you have? Not sure how to attract the right applicants? Or wonder why the quality people don’t stay? Probably one of the most important and least understood aspects of business is talent acquisition. Learn to be more successful in attracting qualified applicants when you improve your employment ads, job applications, candidate assessments and interviews. Good talent management extends the life cycle of an employee

by creating an environment and culture that breeds success. Create expectations with job descriptions based on job activities, and implement a two-way review process for employee and employer.

Friday, August 1, 2014 3:30 p.m.- 5:00 p.m. Rm. 140E – Simple Cycle Solutions Speakers: Ron Kuehn, President, Collision Business Solutions, Inc. Session Description: Cycle Time is a major focus for collision repair shops to better satisfy vehicle owners and insurance companies. Learn a common sense approach on how to communicate, implement, and measure these simple operations to help your shop become a market leader in efficiently processing vehicles. Rm. 140G – (MG) CCC Opportunity Management Speakers: Jennifer Hubbard, Sr. Regional Account Manager, CCC Information Services Session Description: The CCC Opportunity Management session will focus on estimating principles and the customer experience. Rm. 140C – (T) Repairing Today's Vibrant Colors Using Waterborne Technology Speakers: Tim Jones, marketing manager waterborne segment; Randy Cremeans, director of marketing, collision segment, USCA, PPG Industries Session Description: With more stringent environmental regulations acting as a catalyst, the transition to

waterborne technology first took hold in a major way in Europe, California and Canada. More recently, Delaware and Maryland are following suit. While environmental concerns drove the initial movement to waterborne, there’s substantial evidence that those upgrading their shops to waterborne are doing so for more reasons than compliance alone. Rm. 140D – (MG) The ABCs of Aftermarket Parts, AMI Accredited Speakers: Tim Jones, marketing manager waterborne segment, and Randy Cremeans, director of marketing, collision segment, USCA, PPG Industries Session Description: With more stringent environmental regulations acting as a catalyst, the transition to waterborne technology first took hold in a major way in Europe, California and Canada.
