Inauguration of Mosques in Adamilli and Tedlem in West Goavadar,India

Masjid Ahmadiyya, Warangal District, A P., India

Two mosques were inaugurated in Adamilli and Tedlum in the Guavadar District of Andhra Pradesh on November 8, 1908. Maulana Karimuddin of Qadian inaugurated the mosque. Seth Mohammad Sohail, Provincial Amir Andrah Pradesh, Missionary Molvi Muslehuddin Saadi and other muallemeen and missionaries participated at this auspicious gathering. The following day, Maulana Karimuddin laid the foundation stone of another mosque in District Krishna. Some opponents of the local Ahmadiyya Jama’at also have mosques in the same area. May Allah keep the Ahmadiyya mosques safe and secure. (Weekly Badar, January 22, 2009)

Maulana Inayatullah Zahid, Amir Uganda, is leading silent prayers as he unveils the plaque of a new mosque in Bunamasado, Uganda on January 2, 2009. Huzoor named this mosque Baitur Rahman. Local dignitaries attended the ceremony.

What is New in the World of Ahmadiyyat ? (continued)

A new mosque in the city of Bijuri, Uganda has been completed. This is one of 10 mosques created as a part of a project launched by Huzoor Aqdas sanctioned during his recent visit to Uganda. On February 7, 2009, the mosque was inaugurated by Amir Inayatullah Zahid Sahib. Huzoor Aqdas has named this mosque Bait ul Hudah. Amir Sahib also inaugurated a new Mission House on the same day in the premesis of the Mosque. This project has been funded by Central funds. The ceremony was attended by 151 members from 8 Jama’ats.

Four new mosques are established in the Nau Mubayieen Jama’ats in Benin in January 2009. The villages include: G Beto, Magassa, Houn Takon and Hekame. These were inaugurated by Mr. Rana Farooq Ahmad, Amir Benin Jama’at G Beto, Benin: January 16, 2009 Rana Farooq Ahmad Sahib, Amir Benin led the Friday prayers at the new Mosque in G Beto village. Residents of the village were very pleased with this inauguration ceremony. Girls chanted the Arabic Qaseeda with a melodeous voice. A Muslim NGO and a Non Ahmadi Imam also attended the ceremony and appreciated Jama’at efforts. The attending Imam was an opponent of Ahmadiyyat but was deeply moved. Alhumdolillah.

Magassa, Benin: January 16, 2009 Magassa is a village where only one Ahmadi family has an abode. As per Hadhrat Ahmad’s advice: if you want to expand Islam in an area, build a mosque. The Jama’at constructed the first Mosque in this area. Lo and behold, neigboring villages attending the ceremony requested the Jama’at to build more mosques in their villages. Many souls are ready to join the Caravan e Islam. The mosque is located on a main highway that leads to the village. Alhumdolillah.

Houn Takon, Benin: January 23, 2009

Hekame, Benin

HOUN TAKON is one of the primitive villages of Benin where all residents are polyetheists and still believe in spirits and other entities. Tabligh efforts began in 2006 and slowly a Jama’at was established. With great efforts we have succeded in establishing our first mosque in this town. On January 23, 2009, Amir Sahib Benin opened this mosque. Over 200 people visited the 8 x 12 meter structure. May Allah bless this place.

A Jama’at was established in Hekame fifteen years ago. There was previously an old structure where members would assembl for prayers. But now the Jama’at has established a beautiful mosque located on the main highway leading to the village. The village dwellers donated the lands to build all these three mosques, while construction was undertaken by Khuddam, Ansar and Lajna members through Waqar e Amal. They also offered financial sacrifices in this regard. May Allah shower His choicest blessings on all of them.

An Inspirational Anecdote Narrated By Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih Vaba Friday Sermon, Nov. 3, 2006 “Just yesterday, I received a letter from an Ahmadi friend. In it, he writes that I was thinking that since the fiscal year of Tehrik e Jadid is about to begin, I should make a pledge of Rs 3000, and perhaps raise it to Rs 5000 to include my family members and deceased relatives. I began to wonder how I would be able to pay for this. Then I said to myself that I have already intended for it, so I went ahead with that pledge of Rs 5000. As I completed this pledge, a fellow came and brought an envelope. Inside was Rs 3000 cash that someone sent me as Eid gift. I was in a state of gratitude to Allah that I simply intended to pledge and God already mercifully rewarded me. Meanwhile, another person came and gave me another envelope. This one had Rs 5000 that was sent by someone from overseas.” Huzoor related that this man was thinking that I just had an intention to offer and Allah bestowed upon me this grace. He decided to increase his pledge to Rs. 10,000 and mentioned this to his wife who also increased her pledge. Huzoor said that I know these people in person and they do not have such means to easily make this level of sacrifice. But they do have a clear understanding and consciousness about Allah’s succor, a true conviction about Hadhrat Ahmad’s truth, an understanding of the needs of the Jam’at, and consider Khilafat e Ahmadiyya as one of the great bounties of Allah. Therefore, they took this step courageously without any fear. May Allah bless them immensely in their wealth and children.

Naeem A. Cheema, Amir & Missionary In-charge of Kenya is seen with other Jama’at members presenting the Holy Qur’an and books to the Foreign Minister of Kenya, Hon. Mr. Moses Watengula. (Kenya Times, 3-17-09).

April Designated National Lajna Tehrik e Jadid Month Dr. Aziza Rahman, National Secretary Tehrik e Jadid, Lajna Imaillah USA

L

ajna Imaillah USA is celebrating the blessed scheme of Tehrike Jadid by designating April as Tehrike Jadid month. Lajna Majalis around the country will make an effort to hold programs through which the history, importance and achievements of Tehrike Jadid will be highlighted. Our goal is to involve as many Lajna, Nasirat and children as possible in this program. Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IIra laid a firm foundation for the propagation of Islam and Ahmadiyyat all over the world by initiating Tehrike Jadid in 1934. He said: “Remember, Tehrike Jadid is from Allah Ta’ala and that is why it will prosper and all the obstacles in its way will be removed. And if provision for it is not found on earth, then the heavens will bless this scheme. Therefore blessed are they who unreservedly participate in this scheme, because their names will live on the history of Islam with respect and honor. These people will have great honor in the court of Almighty Allah because they went through great trials in order to fortify the faith and Allah Himself will safeguard their descendants. And Divine light will issue from their hearts and will illuminate the world.” It is vitally important that we educate ourselves and our children about the importance of this scheme. We, the American Ahmadis, owe the initiation and establishment of our Jama’at to the Tehrike Jadid scheme. The first participants of the scheme, the members of Daftar Awwal (Register 1) made sacrifices that in monetary terms may have been equivalent only to a few cents, but in spiritual value were equivalent to millions. These were the sacrifices that enabled Hadhrat Mufti Muhammad Sadiq Sahibra to travel to the United States and lay the foundation of the US Jama’at and thus initiate the spread of Ahmadiyyat in this country. Now it is our turn to carry on with this important task. In 2005, Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih Vaba

announced the opening of the fifth register of Tehrike Jadid, the Daftar Punjam. He emphasized that every newborn, every child, every man and woman who had not yet participated in Tehrike Jadid should be enrolled in Daftar Punjam. Lajna Imaillah USA has been asked to take on the responsibility of making sure that every child under the age of seven, every Nasirat and Lajna member is part of Tehrike Jadid. My dear Sisters, let us not fall behind in this task. Let us ponder over the importance of this scheme and what it means to each person who is a part of it. When we pledge for Tehrike Jadid, even if it is just a few dollars, we are really helping to bring about the New World Order of Islam. Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IIra explained that Tehrike Jadid is in fact the forerunner of Al Wasiyyat and every person who participates in it, helps to foster the system of Al-Wasiyyat, and thus helps in the establishment of the New Order. Lajna USA should make sure that no one is deprived of the blessings of Tehrike Jadid. None of our children or grandchildren should be excluded from sharing in this blessed scheme. Just as Allah Almighty has protected us due to the sacrifices and obedience of our parents and grandparents, He has promised to shield our descendants if we demonstrate the same spirit of sacrifice and obedience. Let us all reflect on the 19 Conditions of Tehrike Jadid and begin to set an example for our children by simplifying our lives, restricting unnecessary expenses and spending more time in the service of Allah. May Allah Almighty enable all of us to participate in Tehrike Jadid to the best of our abilities and may He accept our humble sacrifices in this cause. Ameen. Aziza Rahman PhD National Secretary Tehrik e Jadid Lajna Imaillah USA

The Future of Ahmadiyyat in Scotland A Vision of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IIra “Last night, i.e. night of September 16, 1945, I saw a vision around 2 am. I beheld that I am in an airplane flying to England. In the plane there are many other passengers and we have disembarked in a mountaainous area for temporary rest. This area appears to be north of London. I enquire from a fellow passenger as to where this plane will land. He responds Scotland; I asked further, which city ?, he responds Glasgow. I then ask him how far is Glasgow from here. He replies 1500 miles in one way and 200 miles in another way. From this I understand that Allah would open the doors of propagation in Scotland and make some arrangements to that effect. A movement may start 200 miles south of Glasgow and continue to Glasgow. Glasgow and its neighboring area is of great significance from another perspective that was indicated in my past visions. Those who could understand may have already understood, but the present time does not pemit me to explain any further. ( Al-Fazl, September 21, 1945)

The names of these Lajna were sent to Huzoor Aqdas Ayadahullah for special prayers. May Allah bless all their Presidents and Secretaries of Tehrik e Jadid for this accomplishment.

The Third Demand of Tehrik-e-Jadid: Responding to the Abusive Publications of the Adversaries Contributed By Mobasher Ahmad, Missionary, Midwest Region, USA One of the obligations of Tahrik-e-Jadid is to respond quickly and effectively to the abusive criticism published against Islam and Ahmadiyyat. Even before the scheme of Tahrik-e-Jadid was initiated, the task to prepare and publish appropriate rejoinders to obnoxiously offensive objections of the enemies of Islam was carried out most diligently. The Promised Messiahas himself led the jihad of the pen as a victorious General. He also asked his learned companions, such a Hazrat Haji Hakeem Maulana Nurud Dinra and others, to prepare rebuttals of anti-Islamic literature. In addition, the Promised Messiahas laid down guidelines explaining how to carry out this obligation in an effective way. For example, in 1898, when a filthy and vicious book entitled Umhaat-ul-momineen was published by a Christian using very strong language against the Holy Prophetsaw of Islam, the Promised Messiahas made it clear that it is task of Muslims to respond to it in a civilized manner, using soft language, appealing to the hearts and minds of the public in general, and not to excite any violent reaction. A Muslim Organization called Anjuman Hama’et-e-Islam had sent a Memorial to the Government seeking legal action to be taken against the writer. The Promised Messiahas disagreed with the Anjuman’s approach, and argued that the damage done by the book could not be rectified by the Government’s legal action, and seeking help from the Government could be interpreted as if the Muslims do not have any valid answer to the objections made in the book The book had already reached thousands of homes, and if no response was prepared and published, and instead of responding to the objections, only the Government was to be asked to take action on the behalf of the Muslims, then the public would feel that the Muslims were unable to defend their faith with any logical response. The Promised Messiahas said if a satisfactory response using polite and civilized language was published; the negative effects of criticism should diminish automatically. In his own words:

“In this respect, I, my community, and all knowledgeable and learned Muslims agree that to reprimand to the foul-mouthed book Umhaat-ul-momineen is not that we call upon the Government to lay its hand on the culprit; the Government may take any action it likes in accordance with the laws of the land. However, our specific duty is to respond civilly in the best manner to such objections that are in reality raised most foolishly or with intent of deception; and we should make the public aware of the reality and show them the light of our good morals.” (Majmua’Ishteharat, vol.3). On initiating the blessed scheme of Tahrik-eJadid, as its third obligation, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih IIra put the duty of countering the antiIslamic propaganda, and formed a committee consisting of several scholars of the Jamaat with a specific budget allotted to them for publication and sale of books on commercial lines. Referring to this obligation, Hazrat Khalifatul Masih Vaba said in his Friday sermon of November 3rd, 2006 that this task of responding to the abusive publication of the enemy was most pertinent point in terms of the current affairs. He said, “In some countries our Sultan-ul-Qalam groups are responding very well, but there is room for improvement.” He further noted that Sufism was gaining popularity, and many young people were being influenced by it and going off course. In addition to the trend of Sufism, Hazoor said that it was becoming trendy in the West to deny the existence of God; this should be responded to by proofs and reasoning.

Leading a Simple Life: The First Demand of Tehrik e Jadid by Saliha Malik, National Secretary Tarbiyyat, Lajna Imaillah USA “And they uttered not a word except that they said: ‘Our Lord, forgive us our errors and our excesses in our conduct, and make firm our steps and help us against the disbelieving people.’” (Holy Qur’an 3:148) The most important aspect of Tehrik e Jadid for women is to live a simple life, Hadhrat Musleh Maudra explained in his address to Lajna at the Jalsa Salana (12/27/1938). In those early years of initiating this blessed scheme Huzoorra explained to the women: Eat simple meals; Prepare only one dish a day; Wear simple clothes; Do not use the gold (expensive) lace on your clothes; Women who seek pleasure in jewelry will not be able to do lofty deeds; Keep weddings simple and within your means; Do not waste money on futile customs; Help your husbands and family members live simply by your own example; Being frugal is the foremost duty of the citizen of any nation Huzoorra was himself Tehrik e Jadid personified in all its aspects. He explained that one dish a day would benefit our health and also bring the community together – rich and poor. A person with illnesses may not be able to pray or fast so keep your eating habits simple. He tells us that a Sufi was once asked ‘how does one find God?’ He replied ‘eating less, sleeping less, and talking less are the three things that lead to God.’ We can see his deep love for the Holy Prophetsa, whose clean and simple lifestyle knew no parallel; who, even after acquiring all the wealth of Arabia, did not change his humble bed of palm leaves, his plain clothes, rough food and simple lodging.

And here we are immersed in an age where materialism knows no bounds -- A ‘give me more’ society whose extravagance and wastefulness loom over us like a dark cloud. It is a vortex dragging even the unwilling into its clutches. What do we know of simplicity in such a context? At least we realize that the way of simplicity is not straightforward. It is the inner battle against the ego voices and desires - the jehade akbar. It requires you to live with conscious attention and involves every aspect of your life. Recently we heard our beloved Huzooraba speak about these matters in his address to Lajna on ‘Hayaa’ at Jalsa Salana Germany (8/23/08). Huzooraba reminds us that striving after worldly pleasures and material things only brings restlessness and causes you to forget the purpose of your life - ‘It is like salty water, which aggravates the thirst’. He called us to the way of Hayaa. Be those who are truthful and keep the fasts, who learn the ways of self-sacrifice. Be among those look out for the poor and guard their modesty. Be among those who love Allah and keep their tongues busy in remembrance of Him. Practice humility and forbearance. Lead a simple life! Huzuraba explains that such a life of simplicity and hayaa brings true contentment of heart. ‘It is a beautiful fragrance, which cleanses all those around them of their sins.’ I have seen it in a picture of Hadhrat Nusrat Jahan Begum Sahibara, wife of the Promised Messiahas, her lovely face shining with the light of Hayaa – like the moon. May Allah enable all of us to be those who do not utter a word except to say, ‘Our Lord forgive us our errors and our excesses in conduct’, and help us be amongst those who love Thee and lead a simple life.

An Important Announcement Regarding Daftar Awwal, Tehrik e Jadid

I

n compliance with Huzoor’s directives regarding the continuation of the accounts of all Daftar Awwal Mujahideen, with the permission of respected Amir Sahib, we are administratively creating a new field in our Central computer System. All members who would like to continue the accounts of their deceased loved ones are requested to give their names and a code number will be issued for them that would record into their original accounts in Markaz. For example, if you would pay on behalf of Hadhrat Khalifatul Masih IIra, a code has been issued that corresponds to the original account number of Huzoor Aqdas. This, in turn, is filed under ‘New Jama’at’ in our system. This is how this account will remain open forever and loved ones can continue to pay on behalf the deceased. This is the first time we are able to administratively record Daftar Awwal contributions in our computer system. You are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute to Tehrik e Jadid on behalf of your deceased loved ones.
