What is your role in the business? To promote the hotel facilities and services to the local Oxford market, building contacts and enhancing guest experience.
What are your areas of expertise? Networking, tele sales, event coordination, team management, hospitality.
What do you enjoy about your work? I love meeting people and working in a hotel gives me the opportunity to meet new people every day. I’m passionate about putting the guest experience at the heart of decisions and the same ethos is shared with my colleagues at work. Common goals!
Where were you born? Sunderland.
What are your hobbies / interests? I like running but need to do more! I like football, Sunderland but they need to win more, I like reading and listening to music – a bit of a film buff but sadly one of my best hobbies is working at the hotel.
Do you have a favourite sports team? Sunderland AFC, always great crack and you never know what you’re going to get!
Where is your favourite place(s) in Oxfordshire and why? I’m new to the area but there are a few places I’ve visited that have blown me a away: Ashmolean museum – think it’s an incredible collection of curiosities and well set out. Thame, gorgeous village. Wallingford, as above. Abingdon, looks like there’s a few good pubs around. The walk long the river from Iffley into the city
What do you like about Oxfordshire? I love that everything happened here, historically. We’re in the heart of history. I also really like the scenery, diversity of the people and how close we are to other areas which have been so far away growing up – bath, south wales, Bristol etc
