C’è stato un momento in cui icone del design come il carrello contenitore Boby e la poltrona trasformabile Multichair di Joe Colombo o il tavolino libreria 4/4 di Rodolfo Bonetto non erano più in produzione. Qualcuno avrà pensato che capita: tutti i prodotti hanno un ciclo vitale, anche quelli più geniali. Sembrava una perdita inaccettabile e così è nata B-LINE. Era il 1999. Da allora B-LINE produce arredamento per la casa, l’ufficio ed il contract costruendo la sua reputazione nel panorama del design internazionale attraverso una selezione di oggetti contraddistinti da versatilità di utilizzo, originalità, forme spesso essenziali, sensibilità etica, un uso attento dei materiali e delle tecnologie più diverse. There was a time when designer icons such as the Boby trolley storage unit and the Multichair transformable seating system by Joe Colombo or Rodolfo Bonetto’s coffee table / modular bookcase 4/4 were no longer in production. Some might have thought, that’s the way it goes: all products have a natural life cycle, even the most brilliant. It seemed an unacceptable loss and that’s how B-LINE came to be born. It was 1999. Since then B-LINE has been manufacturing furnishings for the home, office and contract, making a name for itself on the international design scene by selecting items for their versatility of use, originality, recurrent essential shapes, ethical sensitivity and careful use of the most diverse materials and technologies. B-LINE safeguards the important legacy of legendary designers and continues to grow, meeting some of the most eclectic among them, like Karim Rashid, as well as rigorous designers such as Favaretto&Partners. HOOP
design by Karim Rashid HOOP è una sedia composta da una scocca comoda ed avvolgente in poliuretano strutturale ignifugo. Caratterizzata da linee sinuose, design proprio della produzione Rashid, la seduta è sostenuta da due diversi tipi di strutture: in tubo di metallo, dal tratto leggero e minimal oppure in legno massello, decisamente più accogliente e naturale. Disponibile anche in versione adatta all’uso outdoor. The HOOP chair features a comfortable, wraparound, fire-retardant structural polyurethane shell. The sinuously shaped seat from Rashid’s own designer production range is supported by two different types of structure: lightweight, minimalist metal tubing or solid wood, which is definitely cosier and more natural. Also available in a version suitable for outdoor use.

design by Favaretto&Partners Helix è una sedia realizzata in legno massello la cui gamba posteriore si ispira esplicitamente all’elica degli aerei del primo 900. Il continuo cambio di sezioni geometriche lungo la struttura, la rende nuova e dinamica. La seduta sottile è in multistrato di legno, a vista o rivestita in tessuto. Lo schienale esile è disponibile nudo o nella versione con “corsetto” in corda elasticizzata. The Helix chair in solid wood features back legs that were explicitly inspired by aeroplane propellers from the early 1900s. The geometrical cross-section changes continuously along the structure, giving it a new, dynamic look. The thin multi-layered wooden seat comes plain or upholstered in fabric. The slim-line backrest is available naked or as a version featuring a “corset” of elasticised cord.

Fishbone è una mensola a spina di pesce, modulare e componibile. La schiena nasce in multistrato di legno, mentre il piano di appoggio, in lamiera di metallo curvata, è molto sottile. Fishbone si muove nello spazio a 45 e 90 gradi, in coppia o in combinazioni multiple, decorando le pareti con funzionalità . E' disponibile anche in versione con schiena rivestita in tessuto: una selezione cromatica e tattile che aggiunge carattere a una mensola tutt'altro che scontata. Fishbone, a modular shelf resembling herring fish bones that can be arranged in a variety of ways. The back panel is made of multi-layered wood while the curved sheet metal surface is extremely thin. Fishbone can be arranged at 45 and 90 degrees, in pairs or multiple combinations, to decorate walls with practicality. Also available with the back panel covered in fabric: a chromatic and tactile selection lends character to this shelf, which is anything but predictable.

Ciascun elemento di Zig Zag può vivere anche da solo ed è costruito in MDF verniciato bianco microgoffrato. An extremely versatile and modular bookcase, Zig Zag makes it possible to create different furnishing solutions. The two elements that make it up can be alternated to obtain a partition or a wall bookcase, or can be used singly to make up half-circles or columns. The Zig Zag element is self-standing and is manufactured in micro-embossed, white-lacquered MDF board.

Dock, però, non si accontenta di ospitare quattro ganci e una piccola mensola d’appoggio e può essere utilizzato anche come lavagnetta magnetica. A shaped, painted steel plate, divided into two sections, turning itself into a coat hanger and wall-mounted tray. Dock doesn’t however stop at merely housing four hooks and a small shelf, but can also be used as a small magnetic board.

Spinny is an unusually versatile drawer unit featuring a series of injection-moulded ABS plastic drawers which can rotate up to 180°, available in three different heights (6, 9 and 12 cm). Tall or low vase, not only is Eve born from the “rib” of the Adam table, it is also a mirror image of it turned upside down.
