Cattlemen's College Q Ranching isn’t a one size fits all approach, and neither is advocacy! While there are a variety of social media platforms each uniquely suited for connecting with consum ers, we are entering a world of virtual education that provides the chance to create valuable learning experiences for youth online. As teachers scramble to generate content for their new-style classrooms, an opportunity to share agriculture’s story presents itself. How can you get involved? Join the Conversation Written by Katie Akins, Arizona Farm Bureau's Ag in the Classroom and Tiffany Selchow, Arizona Beef Council 1. Work with commodity organizations such & Host a Virtual Ag Tour of your ranch. Read your favorite agriculturally accurate book as part of an Online Storytime and share it in an email to local teachers or on your favorite social media channel. Better yet, let one of the state commodity organizations share it for you! as the Arizona Beef Council, Arizona Cattle Growers, or the Arizona Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom program. 2. Share the resources they are already providing, develop your own, or reach out and let an organization profile you, your ranch, and your story in their educational resources. 3. Ever seen a ranching video and thought, “There are already so many great resources out there! Why do I need to tell my story?” Remember, you bring something unique to the table. Each story is different, special, and provides a new perspective to those outside the agricultural community!
