Admirable trait: Spear’s dental patient education videos give patients a greater understanding of conditions and treatments – and gives dentists increased case acceptance. Spear’s platform and tablet app engage patients with animated, researchdriven videos. Spear provides lobby videos, chair-side resources and FireStick and AppleTV technology. In addition, Spear Practice Solutions was designed to improve dental practice operation and enhance the patient experience.

Most Admired Company: 2010-2019 Top Arizona executive: G. Michael Hoover, president and CEO What it does: Construction services. Admirable trait: Sundt is dedicated to improving the communities where it operates. In 1999, Sundt created the Sundt Foundation, a separate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization focused on the needs of disadvantaged children and adults. The foundation is funded through employee-owner contributions, which are matched by the company. The Foundation has provided nearly $8.6 million in aid to community organizations. Beyond fundraising and donating, Sundt is invested in volunteering. Every construction project has a volunteer activity associated with it to benefit a local charity.

Most Admired Company: 2017-2019 Top Arizona executive: David Jacofsky, MD, CEO What it does: Provides best-in-class orthopedic care. Admirable trait: Surgeons and researchers at The CORE Institute are currently working with at least half a dozen companies, both large and very small, to help them create and improve products for patient care. The CORE Institute has developed and patented products of its own to either license or sell to industry. This clearly demonstrates CORE’s continuous effort to work with local, regional and international partnerships within private orthopedic companies as well as research institutions. The CORE Institute’s focus brings greater economic development opportunities to Arizona.
