I remember when Az Business magazine published its first “Most Influential Women in Arizona Business” list in 2012. This year, there were more than 2,000 women business leaders under consideration. Not so surprisingly after reading their resumes, a case could be made for each of them that they earned a spot on the 2019 list. But it’s hard to deny the Class of 2019 is among the most innovative and groundbreaking ever showcased by the magazine. This year’s list includes the first African-American division leader in Kroger’s history, a leader who was named a “Woman Warrior” by the National Indian Gaming Association, NASCAR’s only female race track president, the first woman in U.S. history to command a fighter squadron in combat, and a woman leading the charge in the fight against pediatric brain cancer.
