SUMMER FUN IN AYLESBURY There’s so much to look forward to this summer at our FREE community events!

SUNDAY LUNCH OPEN MIC Calling all budding musicians, local bands and aspiring poets – be part of our Sunday Lunch Open Mic sessions this summer. Performers are invited to stage their talent at The Exchange in Aylesbury. If supporting local talent is more your thing, you can sit back, relax and be entertained each month throughout the summer, in one of the many restaurants which surround the performance area. Willing performers do not need to pre-register, just rock up on the day, add your name to the Open Mic board and perform music, poetry, readings or recitals. Sessions are open for all to perform and can be enjoyed on the first Sunday of each month from 11am-2pm until September at The Exchange, (next to the Odeon), Aylesbury, HP20 1US. For more information call 01296 425678 or email info@aylesburytowncouncil.gov.uk

PARKLIFE WEEKEND

Your August Bank Holiday weekend plans are here! Parklife Weekend returns to Vale Park across the August Bank Holiday weekend, 27-28 August from 12 noon. We’re beyond excited to bring a whole range of local talent to the park on Saturday 27 August at Live in the Park. We’ll be hosting 9.5 hours of continuous music across two stages, fun, games and activities in our Community Involvement Area and plenty of delicious local food outlets to tuck into. Zarak will be headlining this year’s event who promise to rock the main stage with a performance to remember! Visit our website for the full line-up.

*NEW FOR 2022* We will be co-hosting a Battle of the

Bands competition with the fantastic XYZ Music Academy! If you’re part of a group and fancy yourselves on one of our stages in 2023 – listen up!

SOAPBOX DERBY

Watch home-made soapbox karts take to White Hill Park on Sunday 19 June. We’ve missed this action-packed day for the last few years and cannot wait to have it back. DJ Dan Blaze will be there plus lots of fun activities and games for everyone in the family to enjoy this Father’s Day. Remember – you decide who wins Best Looking Kart! We hope to see you there from 11am.

From Monday 4 July you’ll be able to apply for a chance to perform in our Battle of the Bands tent, at this year’s Live in the Park. Judges will decide who will be part of the competition and will also decide on the overall winner on the day, who will then get to perform in the full line-up in 2023. Up for it? Be quick as applications will close on Friday 22 July. Visit our website nearer the time for more information. Huge thanks to XYZ Music Academy for working with us on this exciting new addition to Live in the Park.

Have a whale of a time at this year’s Aylesbury on Sea on Sunday 3 July, 11am-4pm. We’re bringing the seaside to Aylesbury’s Vale Park with a whopping 60 tonnes of sand. There will be Punch and Judy shows, deckchairs, face painting, new Super Soaker Arena, bingo, coconut shy, an inflatable Helter Skelter, land train, games, crafts and much more for the whole family to enjoy. Not to mention plenty of buckets and spades so you can make the finest sandcastles Aylesbury has ever seen! We’re sure you’ll have a fantastic day.
