G-Clamp Swivel Base Bench Vice

All Purpose Engineer’s Vice A genuine all-purpose workshop vice.

Clamp-on and swivel. This vice is perfect for the model maker at home or in a small production workshop. It is quickly clamped to the workbench (up to 50mm thick) wherever you need it. Made from grey cast iron, it is unusual in that the rear jaw moves on a dovetailed slide, making it a really nice action. The lead screw is an ACME thread, also adding to the smoothness of the operation. It has hardened steel jaws which are ground true. The whole vice can swivel through 360°, a cam lock securing the vice, and there is a small anvil on the rear jaw. Inc.vat Ex.vat Code G-Clamp Swivel Base Bench Vice 62mm £32.75 £27.29 106200

This versatile example of a mechanic’s vice is capable of providing rock-solid stability, while performing any of its various functions. It has 2 full 360° rotating options: rotating jaws and swivelling base. You can rotate and position your workpiece to whatever angle or position you wish, for ease and convenience. It has 3 jaw-type options. A standard flat jaw 125mm wide opening to 130mm is fitted with hardened steel hatched surface jaws. Rotating the jaws by 180° offers 2 more options. An integral pipe jaw grips round section up to 50mm and a third jaw is for small gripping of square or round sections in a vertical position. An anvil, just behind the rear jaw, gives you a flat area of 65 x 80mm for hammering. The main parts are high quality cast iron with the main lead screw, jaws and handles of hardened steel. The vice has 4 mounting holes for bolting onto your bench. Inc.vat Ex.vat Code All Purpose Engineer’s Vice 125mm £118.96 £99.13 106191

Two European made vice guides are fitted with an ingenious quick release feature for rapid re-setting of the jaws. Construction of both models is impressively strong with only steel and cast iron being employed. The overall size of the smaller one (excluding the protruding handle socket) is 310mm x 175mm with a 24mm diameter screw while the larger one is 470 x 265mm with a 24mm diameter screw. Engineer’s Vices A European made heavy cast-iron vice. Manufactured from spheroidal graphite cast iron, chosen for its wear resistance and high compressive strength, these vices are exceptionally robust. The main screw has a trapezoidal thread fully protected from dirt and debris inside a precise cylindrical guide. Adjustment is smooth over the full working range. These high quality vices feature a swivelling mount allowing 35° movement left and right. With 70° of movement virtually any workpiece can be clamped in a good working position. Two zinc-chrome-plated locking nuts with tommy bars secure the vice in your chosen position. The swivel base can be removed, allowing the vice to be bolted down in a fixed position. The high quality, steel hardened steel jaws (45 HRC ± 5 HRC) are replaceable. At the rear, the vice features an anvil, providing a surface for a variety of tasks. Below measurements are jaw width and jaw opening. Made in the EU. Mechanics Vices A traditional mechanics or fitters vice. Made from high grade ductile cast iron these vices are able to withstand all the stresses and strains you could throw at them. The sliding jaw is supported on four slideways ensuring a smooth action and minimum jaw movement. The ACME threaded lead screws are pre-tensioned to eliminate backlash. The replaceable jaws are of hardened and ground steel, perfectly square with cross hatching for grip. The maximum jaw openings with full lead screw engagement in the nut are for the 100mm model-130mm, 125mm model115mm and for the 150mm model-150mm. Available in three sizes, with 100mm, 125mm or 150mm width jaws.
