Precision Compound Slide Self Centring Vice Keep your job centre of attention. This precision compound slide self-centring vice is a good choice for applications, such as drilling and light milling, automatically self-centring a workpiece to its centre. Centring the vice to a machine’s spindle means that the centre of any workpiece clamped in the vice will automatically be in alignment with the spindle. It brings the additional benefit of movement in two axes. It increases accuracy and improves efficiency, allowing control, speed and precision in the movement of the work. The 80mm wide by 32mm deep jaws open up to 76mm. Each handwheel features a dial with 100 divisions, numbered every tenth. A full turn of the handwheel represents 3mm of travel, meaning each division represents just 0.03mm. The vice has 85mm of movement along the X-axis and 105mm on the Y-axis. Precision ground dovetailed slideways and an adjustable gib provide ultra Precision Compound Slide Self smooth operation. This vice is the perfect companion for Centring Vice woodworkers and metalworkers alike.

If you’ve invested in a milling machine it’s vitally important you have a high quality, precision machine vice. These are some of the best available and are so accurate we recommend them for use with our CNC machines. They are made from close grained high tensile seasoned cast iron and have a scratch and rust resistant finish. The jaws, made from steel hardened to 55+/-3 HRC and ground with a parallelism of 0.0012” (30 microns), hold the workpiece dead square for perfect results. The vice bodies rotate horizontally 360° against a scale and can be locked securely in the set position. Two slots secure the vice to the machine table as well as a slot milled across the base to assist in accurate location. The main bodies of the vices are de-mountable from the circular bases. Available in three jaw sizes: 50mm wide by 25mm deep with 50mm opening, 75mm wide by 33mm deep with 75mm opening, 100mm wide by 38mm 50mm deep with 100mm opening. Precision work holding and 75mm absolutely superb! 100mm

Tilt Vices Going in at an angle. These 75mm or 100mm wide cast iron drill vices will tilt at any angle between zero and 90°, clamping securely in position for both drilling angled holes and light duty milling. The tilt action is really smooth, with no discernable movement in the dovetail slides when locked. The calibrated quadrant with locking lever allows easy setting of required angles and with six slots in the base for clamping making this vice a perfect companion for most milling machine and pillar drill tables. Both are fitted with hardened and ground steel jaws, the Tilt Vice 100mm 75mm wide version opening to 80mm, the 100mm version Tilt Vice 75mm opening to 108mm.

Rotary Tables

AE475CT Compound Table Controlled and precise movement in two axes.

A rotary table can be used for a variety of milling, drilling and marking out operations in the home engineer’s workshop. By adding an indexing plate to the rotary table you can precisely divide a circle into a number of divisions, making repetitive operations easy. When a table is mounted vertically, a tailstock allows longer items to be mounted horizontally for machining or marking out.

Cast iron construction throughout the 475 x 155mm tabletop has as a fine ground finish with two T-slots along its length. The slots accept 16mm T–nuts. The table travel is lateral or x-axis 280mm, longitudinal or y-axis 180mm. The slides are dovetail and fitted with adjustable gib strips, to remove any play or wear and ensure smooth movement at all times. The table has 16mm metric trapezoidal thread lead screws with 2.0mm pitch. The handwheels have graduated dials with 100 divisions numbered every tenth and a vernier scale. One complete revolution moves the table 2.0mm. The table base is 200 x 270mm, with slots for fixing bolts at 160mm centres. Overall dimensions are L x W x H 665 x 380 x 125mm and weight is 23.5kg.
