This vice incorporates a unique tightening cam that lets it pivot freely through 360 degrees until you tighten the jaws firmly; locking the vice in place. This allows you to back off the clamp screw just enough to rotate the vice for access to any part of a workpiece without releasing it from the jaws. Additionally; the vise can be lifted from its heavy pivot post and reinstalled horizontally (either side up); maintaining the same pivoting and locking functions. This vice has long been a favourite of luthiers and model makers alike, the functionality making it so convenient to use. The jaws are 87mm wide, 57mm deep and open to a maximum of 127mm. Holes in the jaws allow you to mount custom-made wooden jaws. The base has three fixing holes on 120mm centres. The cast iron construction is carefully machined and the total weight 7.5kg.
