About IRIS & AUIS The Sulaimani Forum is organized by the Institute of Regional and International Studies (IRIS), an Iraqbased research center housed at American University of Iraq, Sulaimani (AUIS), Iraq’s only fully independent, not-for-profit, American-style institution of higher learning. Through multidisciplinary research, strategic partnerships, and regular events featuring experts and leaders, IRIS examines the most complex issues facing the Kurdish Region, Iraq, and the Middle East.
