Running
Running Around SIngapore... And Beyond The year 2020 was best described as a year of adaptations for the AWA Running group. We moved from running all together at the Botanic Gardens to having to create smaller groups to adhere to the safe distancing rules. Instead of packing our bags to participate in races in neighboring countries (Runcations), we participated in virtual runs in Singapore. Instead of creating running shirts for the group, we created face masks with the AWA logo. Even our traditional holiday party was different. Instead of having our runners celebrate together at a restaurant, we organized several smaller parties on the same day at members' homes. Our runners dressed up and had an amazing night! Although change is never easy, our group took it in stride and owned it. We are excited to see what 2021 will bring to our running group. We continue to grow every month and most recently Susan Wallace and Beth Reintjes joined us. As we welcome new members in 2021, we are eager to share all of what running and Singapore have to offer.
