BIO Authentic Speaker Kenny Lattimore | The smooth vocal styling and electrifying performance of Kenny Lattimore have attracted the attention of music enthusiasts worldwide. The recording artist, producer, and song-writer was born and raised in Washington D.C. He stems from a musically oriented family that loved R&B, Funk, Gospel and Jazz. He grew up singing in church, performing in talent shows and studying classical and chamber music. His belief that the messages we send through music reach the soul garners his appreciation for both melody and lyrics in a song. He secured the honor of Maryland Distinguished Scholar for Performing Arts, but went on to Howard University with the intention of pursuing a degree in Architecture and Planning. While still a student he began performing with a local group that led to a recording deal with Epic Records and the following of his musical passions. But it was not until 1996 that he signed his first solo recording deal with Columbia Records and began tempting listeners with his self titled debut which spawned the hits Never Too Busy and the Grammy nominated hit For You. That track went on to become an international staple at weddings worldwide. The album also earned Lattimore his first gold sales status and an NAACP Image Award for Best New Artist. He followed in 1998 with the revelatory, critically acclaimed and also gold certified From the Soul of Man. In 1999 record mogul Clive Davis signed Lattimore to the BMG family of labels where he recorded a solo project Weekend and two hit duet projects with recording artists Chante Moore. He views his life as a tool to inspire others to pursue excellence in all areas of their lives. Launching Sincere records and creating the Kenny Lattimore Foundation is another vehicle for Kenny to bring his passion for music to the world!
